Anybody been on a gun buying spree lately?

I have been buying, selling, collecting guns ( mostly buying) for about 35 years; but I don't think I have ever purchased more guns than in the last two years. I was wondering if anybody else has experienced the same thing? I was trying to decide why I have been doing this and I think my reasons are basically that it seems that prices of guns I want are only going higher plus the current political atmosphere surrounding gun ownership. Your Thoughts?

I have gotten a little carried away this yr. But I have slowed down a bit. I think I only bought 3 guns this month.I am going to a gun show this weekend and it is my 40 th b-day, so maybe a present is in order;)

I've only been in the game for a little short of 20 years, but yes, in the last two years, I seem to have been on a spree myself. It's not "Obama" or rising prices, in fact, I think it has been just the opposite - a plentiful supply and generally lower prices. Prices on some guns are at an all time low. If you peruse the classifieds here, you may notice that not a lot of iron is moving compared to previous years. Selling seems to take longer and at a reduction from the original asking price.

Anyway, I went on a crazy spree in the last 18 months, then decided that I really didn't need/use/want a number of these, and then traded a bunch for a few more limited and high end pieces. Now, I am happier than a pig in the proverbial poop!

Only 18 so far this year... everytime I think I have all I want I find another...capping off my collection. Is this a spree?

New England Westinghouse Built Mosin Nagant
Mosin Nagant M38

That crazy enough for you?

Only 6 so far this year... I'm falling behind my gun-a-month normal pace.

Truth is, I have most of what I really want... but I manage to find ones that I want once in awhile.

Thinking about saving up for a couple long-desired purchases... I've always wanted a Sig P210, for instance.

Nope.

I like coming up with a "need" and then reading about all the ways to meet it, learning about the alternatives, wandering through gun shows looking and pricing . . . and then deciding it really isn't a need.

I seem to be buying power tools and outdoor equipment instead.
