Seems to me that the 6.5 is a lighter bullet and more subject to crosswind problems. Does the 6.5 require more finesse to shoot accurately? Or is this bullet weight/crosswind thing a myth? I suppose I can find that in a book somewhere...
A friend of mine has a 25-06 that he is rather fond of. I have heard good things about the caliber, but I just don't know enough.
At this point I am leaning toward either a 6.5 or a .338 since that is what I hear most about. Or maybe I will just stick with a .308 for now until I get some downrange experience. I clearly have a lot of work to do before I buy, angled scope mounts and all.
DED1645: Nice. A bit out of my price range, but nice. I have always liked H&K.
