any other cheap old guns?

French MAS36 is a good one to look for. I just picked one up for $150, and it's what is considered a mystery rifle. It's going to look good next to the Turkish Mauser, Enfield, M44, M1 Carbine (repro) and Yugo SKS.

I say it's going to look good because as of now, the boy doesn't know he has one yet, lol. It's his Christmas present!

C&R by definition is everything 50 years old and older, so yes a 1948 shotgun would be a C&R gun. There are other guns that are YOUNGER than 50 years that are also C&R because of their status of "curio". That's where you have to really go over the BATF&E list to make sure. The Bren 10 (of Miami vice fame) is a C&R but is much under 50 years.
