Any opinions on the H&K USP?

We all make judgements based on our experiences. In my experience I have always spoken with friendly people when calling SIG Arms. I got all my questions answered and twice received parts free of charge, once a guide rod and the second a pair of grip screws.

Like I said in my post, H&K does treat LE far better than regular citizens. For this reason I refuse to buy their products. Anyone that doesn't have the courtesy to respond to my inquiries doesn't deserve my money. Your mileage will of course vary. ;)

So many pistols, so little money.

I have a USP9, variant 3 (decocker only) which I paid $550 for incl. 2 hi-caps (recently).

Even though the weapon is a bit big for my hands, I thoroughly enjoy shooting it. I've had two FTF, using Wolf. Everything else goes through cleanly.

The piece is as accurate as my SIGs, and I like the position of the decocker more than the SIG position.

It's not really a CCW, my P239 takes care of that.

Just a great, great weapon.

I'll second jtduncan's appraisal of Glock parts availability.

Look on (no affiliation, just a customer) www.glockmeister.com as an example - a smorgasboard of spares where any factory part can be had. I picked up every spring in the gun w/2 extra strength mag springs, ejector, etc, as well as FULL STOCK RECOIL ASSEMBLY for $30 - any other parts can be ordered 1 at a time - the only expensive parts are slide (OUCH), receiver and barrel(~$100)

Glock Armorer? I honestly wonder why they have these. I'm a novice and I can strip a Glock to its base components in minutes - and any failed component could be replaced for a few bucks online (never had it happen though) - I would just spend a few bucks extra on the part rather than bother dealing with customer service shnoids at a gun company.

Are there equiv. sites for other guns? I would imagine there would be something for the popular 1911s. . . Are there any other sites for other guns with full parts availability? (Hopefully someone can point me to one for S&W revolvers. . . . )

As to staying on topic, I've used a friend's USP compact, I think its recoil is a little less than the G30 and having a hammer/safetys to play with (cocking SA is cool) is something you'll miss out on with the Glock. Oh, and the glock's grip su*. I'd (personally) want the Glock's simplicity in a pinch, though; but to each his own!!
