Any Interest in a 5 Shot .32 Pocket Revolver?

i would like NAA to come out with a 32 acp mini revolver. The same single action design as their 22 magnum mini revolvers only just large enough to accommodate 32 acp. that would be significantly smaller and lighter than an I frame.

Ballistically speaking, the .22WMR round will do everything that the .32ACP will...and there are .22WMR revolvers aplenty...

Since we are talking about "pocket revolvers", let's assume that we are talking about the .32 H&R Magnum. That is definitely better than .22 WMR. It is smaller and recoils less than .38 special. If you wanted to reduce recoil further, you could also load the old .32 S&W Long in the same way that .357s can load .38. (They actually make semi-jacketed hollowpoints in .32 S&W Long.) It has already been mentioned but I've long wanted a 6-shot 432Pd:

The .327 is an excellent round but it's a lot of fire for a pocket gun. I prefer a little more barrel with .327 so I'd probably be loading the H&R Mags anyway...

Many including myself have no interest in a .32 caliber J frame, many including myself have no interest in pocket carrying a J frame.

Well I have a lot of interest in J-Frame Smiths. I own 5 of them in 32 caliber. For pocket carry the hands down best is the 431PD that when loaded with 6 rounds of 32 mag weighs just 15oz. It stays in my nightstand and if there is a noise that needs investigating in the dark it is the gun that goes with me. and if I ever get my CC license My 2" model 30 would be one of my picks for a carry gun. The 32 S&W long use to get a lot of respect for a carry gun a hundred + years ago.

I reload and cast for the 32 so ammo is cheap. My holy grail gun was an S&W 631 in 32 mag. I finally after years of looking found one. Not really a pocket gun with its 4" barrel but makes a perfect small trail gun.

I would love to have a K-32. But unless someone offers one that don't know what they have I will never own one. Its really to big for the round anyway.

I do have two ruger single sixes in 32 mag with 5.5" barrels. Probably the best platform for the 32 mag round. Long live all 32s.

Love that 432 - I got mine for $330 when they were discontinued. Should have bought another. I got the 632 comp'ed SS hammer version at Cabela's on sale. Wish I had the SS snubby hammerless version just for grins. But I missed it and I don't pay current prices.

I agree.

The .38 snubby J-frame is just too big for me to pocket-carry.
It feels like I have a billiard ball in my pocket.

The "J" frame is too big and uncomfortable for me, too.
As far as .32 mag, .327 mag, .22 mag- these cartridges are too long. The .32 acp is the perfect size for a 5 shot, tiny pocket revolver.

I've got the 4" SP101 in 32 mag and it's exactly that. It will be more once I get around to having it reamed out to .327. :)

Nah, not really. And by that, I mean...not even.

I view the .38 Spl as being a marginal round, so no, I don't have any interest in a sub-marginal round.

Similar to how I view a .380 as marginal, and (after shooting a P3AT and a P32 back-to-back) there is no way I will carry a .32acp.

Be careful doing that. Apparently ruger uses a different metal for the 237 cylinders from the 32 mag version.

Heyjoe I am not familiar with the 331 and 332. Got any more information on them?

FWIW I sometimes CC a CA undercoverette .32mag. Really like the light weight. I also have a single six .32mag for trail and camping. I load the Charter with Hornady critical defense and the Ruger with 85gr JHP's.

Sorry. I thought we were still talking about .32ACP revolvers. The .32Mag is significantly better...

A .32 Safety Hammerless is about as small a DA revolver as you can keep hold of. A tool steel cylinder to hold .32 ACP would make it a modern pocket revolver.

I also picked up one of the 432s when it was discontinued. I had an SP101 I picked up from a friend- fun but heavy, considering the teeny little cartridge. The 432 was lighter and cheap. Don't remember exactly, but it was less than $350 with shipping and transfer fee.

I like 38s, but I'm more accurate with the 32 and get faster followup shots. And it's fun to shoot, rather than brutal, so I practice more.

It's what I carry when I'm not carrying. If I'm going into the wrong side of town, I carry a semi auto. But my everyday hanging out at the house, or at the office gun is the 32.

What I'd like in a 32 5 shot revolver would be something more like a H&R Young America (not a break top). I don't have one anymore, but I'm pretty sure it was smaller than an I frame. I'm thinking with 2014 metallurgy instead of 1905 metallurgy, you could chamber it in roughly a 32 acp size cartridge with a full rim and load it to 35K PSI like a 9mm or 40.

I wouldn't expect S&W to do it, though. Maybe a company like NAA.

Something scaled up to 32 from a NAA Mini would be neat, too.

I was concerned about this so I called Ruger. I discussed the issue in depth with a customer service representative who went to find someone in the building with precise SP101 design knowledge. I was on hold for a while but eventually got confirmation. There is no metallurgical difference and no structural difference aside from the tiny bit of extra metal in question.
