The area I mentioned, near Deckers, has been kept reasonably clean for the past couple of years. The Forest Service hired a contractor to clean all the trash then the FS posted a rather large 6'X6' sign, which you cannot miss, where you turn off the paved road to enter the shooting area. The sing warns people to not shoot trees and such. I think the sign was/is a slap in the face to shooters. I'm surprised someone has not shot a hole or two in the sign. It's a matter of time.
Mind you, this area goes for about five miles to the south. There must be 20 or more places people use for shooting. I forgot to mention, the close in areas to the paved road are almost devoid of trees from dip sticks placing targets on trees. They don't place targets on trees anymore because there are no trees.
The FS blocked one off-shoot road to keep people from trashing up this one area but some shooters skirted around the berm and made a new road. That one has now been blocked.
In another direction west of Deckers, there is a very small shooting area of maybe 150' feet in diameter. It's very dangerous for shooting I don't shoot there and I don't look for brass. It looks like a land fill whose trash wasn't buried. The last time I was there, a couple of months ago, someone filled contractor size trash bags with some of the trash but didn't take the bags. There were enough bags to completely fill a dumpster.
Sorry for getting on my soap box. I know it's a bit off topic.
