Anti-LEO NH Lawmaker ... ?

KABOOM,

If I was to run for State Rep in my State, I would run as a Democritter. I would have A MUCH better change of getting elected that way. I would also do the ussual tactic of saying whatever it would take to get into office... After being elected that I would of course be 1000% pro-gun :D

Sure I might step on alot of soccer mom's toes but oh well, they started first. neener neener. (yes I am acting like an a anti) :barf:

Dead out.

mrat,

I am, of course, well aware that police can use whatever force they deem necessary to effect a lawful arrest. And if they are responding to another's initiation of force, they are doing what they should be doing, and have my full support.

Many times in modern society, however, police are asked to use force first. This occurs any time someone is arrested for a consensual crime, or a crime without any identifiable victim. Too often, when the "crime" is the possession of the wrong sort of personal property, be it guns or drugs, the "criminal" is attacked in his home at night while sleeping by paramilitary forces.

I know that if someone does what many of us would do, and immediately reaches for a gun when their door is broken in at night, they will be shot dead by those their taxes have been paying to protect and serve. Perhaps you think this is fine. I do not.

To reiterate what is stated in the quote in my original post, when the police change from people who support us in our right to defend ourselves to people who claim they can use any violence necessary to enforce immoral and unConstitutional laws, they cross the line from friend to foe.

I am not trying to defend what this lawmaker said. I think that a dead police officer is a very tragic thing. I abhor violence, yet I realize that violence is an acceptable response to its initiation by another. I do not draw the distinction, as many others here do, that police should have special rights to commit acts that would be criminal if done by someone else. I guess that's why I'm a libertarian.

I heard him speaking on some news show a day or so ago. I think it was Fox. After I heard him say his "cops should be killed" stuff without any qualification, I realized that the liberal pres actually got one right; this guy is a complete nutcase. I still support the statements that made above, but I no longer have any reservations about passing judgement on this guy. (Just in case there is any question about what and who I meant - I do not mean cops like Lawdog and others who honorably carry out their duties, I mean the criminals who hide behind a badge to get their jollies and enjoy hurting people.)
