Anti-gun celebs.

I recall reading with Gibson a few years ago in 'Playboy.' (Yes, I DO read the articles.) He mentioned that he prized his Beretta 9mm, shooting with it regularly. Also stated that he makes Mrs. Gibson go to the range every so often, as he felt that she should be able to defend herself too. Sounds pretty reassuring.
Also, Gibson has come across fairly conservative in many interviews. Bryant Gumbel has made snide comments about him, which makes Mel ok in my book.

Golon ... and then, there is that handsome devil Gwinnydapooh, of course ... ;)

Out of curiosity, I also glanced around at what can be found on Mel Gibson's bio - sounds like a pretty down to earth guy. Even has a home in Montana. Also, he runs Icon Productions - that I didn't know before.

I think we can add Bruce Willis and Arnold Swarzenegger to the list, at least the last time I looked into it they were pro's.

With very few exceptions Hollywood personalities are mad as balloons. RKBA awareness just might be a good "reality check."

ALARM! ALARM! CIVILIZATION IS IN PERIL! THE BARBARIANS HAVE TAKEN THE GATES!

Sandys' Homepage
We are as one as we all are the same fighting for one cause -Metallica

If Gibson is pro-gun, then it's in the rather typically elitist way that many antis are. Gibson clearly denegrates shooters' rights in his Lethal Weapon series. His character goes on crusades against a mythical "cop-killer" bullet that can apparently penetrate the blade of a D-5 Catapiller (and, interestingly, kill a NON-cop...?! Hmmm, could it be that the complete transparency of this non-issue is apparrent, even onscreen?)Of course, it's OKAY for Riggs to have a Beretta 92F with high-cap magazines because he's a COP. Cops (and actors) shouldn't be precluded from being armed, right?

Gibson is a shill for the anti-gun crowd, but wants guns for himself. This makes him MORE dispicable than the true-blue antis that at least have the integrity to go by the same rules they would push on you and me.

Look, it hurts me, too. But he hurts us more than he helps us.

Swartzenegar is pro-shooting sports.

Dunno about the rest.

These people can afford to be anti gun. They have body guards and iron gates to live behind. They live in swanky neighborhoods. it's easy to anti gun and idealistic when you have no security concerns... and they are all a bunch of hypocrites. Disgusting.

------------------
"...And if I close my mind in fear, please pry it open..."-Metallica

You know, I don't understand this. I can understand trashing an actor who is vocal and political ala Rosie and makes movies promoting the opposite message, but I can't understand trashing someone who may use a gun in a movie, but is anti and isn't real vocal about it, (i.e. no crusade). How, exactly is it hypocritical? Y'all think actors only take rolls that reflect what they do in real life? So all the actors who play BG's are supposed to be pro crime? Is it hypocritical to play a murderer and be anti murder?

I kinda hafta agree with Phil. I also dislike anti's who are hypocrites, and that covers about all of them. If they really stand up to their convictions and walk the talk, I respect their opinions. Just because I differ with them in opinion or action, maybe they are doing what they feel is right for THEM. And quite frankly, the anti- gun crowd is so large any more, I don't have time to research everyone or everyting I have daily dealings with to see if they are anti or not. I do the best I can within my limits.
My complaint comes when they try to take my rights away. It is one thing to differ in opinion, but my basic right to self -preservation shouldn't be played with.
These folks,if they really believe in a cause,(not just pc crap) are really no different than I am in that I try my best to get the word out about my OWN beliefs.
I am sure some of those folks are decent people just like you and me, they have just been brainwashed into thinking they will be taken care of at every turn by those appointed over them and tasked to be their "Protectors". And when the protection is not there and they are not prepared to take care of themselves, the blame usually lies with the tools of the crime (i.e. guns), not the criminal. Therefore all guns are to blame.
I am of the opposite opinion. I feel it is time to take back our lives from the punks who wish to rob, assault and intimidate those of us who just want to go about our daily business and live happily ever after. I won't turn down help, such as is available in the form of law enforcement, but we, as individuals are ultimately responsible for this, and I choose to accomplish this by using, among other tools, the handgun (P-11,P-32), I practice with and legally carry on my hip.

Pro-gun but no longer alive is Gary Cooper.

I was reading about the introductory meeting between Gary Cooper and Sgt. Alvin York. Conversation was sparse and neither exchanged much other than grunts. When the agent mentioned that Cooper had a gun collection, Cooper without prompting escorts Sgt. York to his gun room and they chatter non-stop for over an hour. The way it oughta be now!

Vigilantibus et non dormientibus jura subveniunt

A few other pro-gun celebs:
Joseph Mantegna
Dennis Franz
Luke Perry
(all have participated in NRA shoots)
Director/Writer David Mamet
One of the Mandrel sisters (Louise?)
Bruce Willis, Steven Seagal, and Arnie have already been mentioned. I'm curious if Kurt Russell is, as he's given a lot of money to the libertarian/pro-RKBA think-tank the CATO Institute.
Amazing to think at one time you could look at LIFE magazine and see pictures of Humphrey Bogart cleaning his collection of Colt revolvers or Steve McQueen checking the sights on one of his SA sixguns. Those were the days.

I visited the Casino gun range at Mystic Lake Casino near Prior Lake, Minnesota. The range officer said many of the stars appearing at the casino are shooters. Howie Mandel was just there enjoying himself. He thinks Rosio O is a jerk of sorts on guns.
Cheers!!

I saw Rick Schroeder on Politically Incorrect quite a while back. He is VERY pro gun. He was on with some anti's and he tried his best to present his point. He even argued against assault weapons bans, and owns one himself. (don't remember which one) The others were never polite enough to let him get a word in edge-wise. In fact, Bill Mahr
(the host) basically dismissed the 2nd amendment.

My wife likes him 'cause he grew up to be a handsome adult with real acting skills.
I like him for his positive gun attitude.

I guess getting off the subject of anti celebs a tad, but if one were a guest on the show, might as well let the idiots speak their piece and wait for the audience/sheep applaud. If you believe in a right to arms, you're already in the minority.

While I appreciate the occasional Sellick or Heston providing some balance, I really wish they would all shut up. 'Political' actors and actresses of any stripe...give me a break.

These people play roles for a living. They are extremely large children living in a fantasy world. Why should any normal human care what they think and why do they deserve the bandwidth to preach?
