That's something I also worry about.
I've always wondered that if a major war was to break out, would the enemies of the US use EMP strikes and electronic warfare to take out the communications of the whole country?
I must confess that I hate computers (and that's being brought up with them), but the world is far to reliant on things that are so unreliable.
The world has forgotten that computers are a tool not the basis of an organisation.
I used to work in Local Government and they had a computer problem and every person in the office couldn't do any work as it was all done on computers.
The stupid thing is, computers are supposed to be far superior to hard copy, but that work place had to have a back up of all the saved data, and then a hard copy too!
