Heads up this second link is more graphic
http://www.newsnet5.com/dpp/news/lo...t-with-middlefield-police-during-traffic-stop

They say he says "kill me kille me", so appears to be suicide by cop, interesting to see if he legally owned the AK and if he had significant mental health problems. He had a 40 round mag and fired 37 rounds.

WHOA thats incredible.

Now I'll be at my favorite restaurant bar and a certain guy will come in talking about this shooting.

He will claim its a gubernment conspiracy and the gubernment sent that guy to do that so they can ban guns.:o

Same guy claims that there was no shooting at Sandyhook and it was all a governent conspiracy in order to ban guns.:o

I try to ignore him but when I do he gets loude and louder.

And he owns guns and really believes that crap he talks....

Thank GOD the cops lived.

I live in Ohio and have looked on all the state and local news stations and cant find it anywhere?

Is that an older post or is the media in Los Angeles gonna post another retraction in the daily news paper....lol

I doubt they missed it here on ABC or NBC here, they love the anti gun movement.:D

Ah good catch. Yeah took them a while to dredge this up, google news had the news link listed as 3 hours old.
FoxNews didn't say a date but aired it today as new material

No need to invent plots to "dredge up" old news. The linked stories make it clear that they're reporting new developments in the case: earlier this week, the prosecutor finished his investigation of the officers' involvement in the case and cleared them of any wrongdoing, and the police released the evidence -- including the firearms and video.

Even CNN was re-circulating old, tweaked articles from January-March to make Sandy Hook seem like it happened yesterday. It's because they're either being paid to do so, or returning a favor for someone.

To be honest I have seen them withhold news like that and spread it out over a given time period for shock effect.
They probably had that one setting on the shelf.
I have also seen them here fail to report it depending on the way they can use it politically.

Can anyone find any info on the shooter, mental state? Able to Legally own the gun?

The Cali ABC news link appears to be reporting it for the first time as if it was new, FoxNews did the same. Newsnet5 was the only one that listed the original date and had some updated info.

Be that as it may, in this particular case, Occam's Razor applies: there is a simple explanation for the publication of the story -- this week there were new developments -- so there's no logical reason to invoke dark, secret motives or conspiracies.

The media will always pounce on an excuse to show a graphic video; if the story is being aired in new outlets, that might have a teeny bit to do with it.

Missed that Vanya.

I am glad the good guys won and lived to tell about it. I am gonna do some searching on the case to see if there is something new that i am not up to date on already.

A couple of things, he did not go down after being hit (first shots), and who was the third person (saying something like " I have a pistol"). Glade the officers were Okay!

who was the third person (saying something like " I have a pistol")
I think that was a bystander. A bystander dense enough to walk into a gunfight. Given the speed at which events happened and the high levels of adrenaline, he's fortunate the police didn't misidentify him as a threat.

The police acted quickly and competently, and it looks as if the perpetrator wanted the result he got.

From the news reports and the police evidence the guy also had books on improvised explosives and had some gun powder in the car.

I'm glad they found him before he ued any of that the wrong way.

It almost sounds on the audio as if it is the perp himself saying "I have a pistol", in response to the shouted commands of Officer Savage.

Not that I'm any medical authority, but at the time the perp collapsed to the pavement I don't think he was dead at that time (although mortally wounded), and he may have been responding to the commands of Officer Savage.

I would still be wondering about why the developments are new and aired in LA and not here, but i am once again reminded that the story being drug out about something that happened here in Ohio still reflects badly here and they just left it alone.

Also plays into what Vanya was saying and better left alone.

I guess the frustration I have is that a story in which a Lunatic does something like this should be left as a story in which the well trained Police got the job done being outgunned so to speak and they should be applauded.

Any thing else takes away from hero's that put it on the line that day.

Something to consider for anyone saying the news outlets purposely withheld it:

Imagine you are the news outlet. You have this juicy tidbit about gun violence with an extended magazine in the middle of a frenzy about this and absolute knowledge that no other station is covering it currently.

What do you do?
