Another Sheehan remark

Um... the above post are my "compassionate" remarks on the situation. I would be banned should I express my real feelings about this, um... person, as a Vietnam vet and as a father of an active Marine.

Brain and brain. What is Brain?

This lady needs to keep on ranting, please keep ranting up to the 08 elections, please, she is a good spokesperson for the Democrat left.

One person's freedom fighter is another person's terrorist...

But this...

"Well then we should have gone after al-Qaida and maybe not after the country of Afghanistan."

Jesus, what an idiot.

I feel bad for her, she actually believes this stuff. :barf:

She has every right to be upset losing her son, but to defile his memory

What about Pat Tillman, remember he died in a 'Friendly-Fire' (No such thing) incident. His family was po'd that they were kept out of the loop, but I don't remember assaults on the troops or the President.

All I can do is have pity on her, and one day when she realizes what she has done, and been party too, I fear long term counsling and medication will be in order.

China invades Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. They push the American Army back and occupy those three states. I would expect vicious resistance from the residents of those three States, and I would expect that patriots from other States to come in and help. We would show no mercy towards the Chinese - hit and run tactcs, sabotage, booby traps, roadside bombs, you bet, we would use every one.
Let's refine the analogy further, for the sake of clarity.

Suppose the Chinese invade in order to overthrow a brutal Arizona governor who fills Phoenix vacant lots and government building foundations with the corpses of his political opponents, and tortures and mutilates defenseless Arizonans for sport and entertainment.

The Chinese army routs the governor's forces, and the people of Arizona rejoice at their efforts, that they can finally walk down the street without fear of being snatched up by the governor's secret police.

They newly-freed Arizonans work together to elect a new interim government in free balloting, posting a record turnout despite threats, then they set to work drafting a new Constitution for the state that prevents the massive centralization of power that led to the tyrant governor in the first place.

The newly-elected government expressly requests that the Chinese army stick around in Arizona to help insure security and train the new state police.

Yet Chinese-haters from neighboring states who supported the deposed tyrant governor, along with the Arizona cronies and thugs who used to be in the governor's administration and ruled the state with an iron fist and well-stuffed pockets, decide to attack the Chinese and anyone who supports them, because they want to regain their lost power to steal from and crush both their enemies and the innocent citizens of Arizona.

Would they be rightly called "freedom fighters," when what they're actually fighting for is a return to tyranny?

Would they be rightly called "freedom fighters," when what they're actually fighting for is a return to tyranny?

OK, let's go with your analogy - why aren't the Arizona natives that are happy to be liberated going after the "euphimism dejour" who are killing the liberated Arizonans?

I do not believe that the people of Arizona would stand by and watch a band of "euphmism dejour" killing the Chinese soldiers and their own people on a daily recurring basis. The Arizonans would find them and eliminate them.

Where are the Iraqi people?

Right on, Mike! This new spokesperson for the Democrat Party just needs to keep on runnin' her mouth! Couldn't be a more articulate example of the sheer stupidity extant among the looney left. If one has reasoned, legitimate criticisms of the Bush administration, OK. If Sheehan is the alternative I will ROTFLMAO!

BTW, I read on Drudge that their meals are now being catered down there. I guess Moore or maybe Soros will pop for the bus caravan to DC. The first "Crock" group national tour. T-shirts, ball caps, CD's of Cindy's speeches (What a hoot those would be!), DVD's of video angled up her nostrils as those filming her are wont to do.

Can you say, "Running Mate", anybody?

It is just really, really sad that she is so honestly completely ignorant. Some of the things she says just blow you away. Make you shake your head in awe-struck wonder of how ANYONE could actually SAY and BELIEVE that stuff!

I grieve with her for the loss of american lives, but her actions are truely a disgrace. When are the AMERICAN PEOPLE going to WAKE UP, and stop being led around by the nose?

When are the AMERICAN PEOPLE going to WAKE UP, and stop being led around by the nose?

49% won't. In order to be your own leader, you have to take responsibility for yourself (and family). If you just follow then you have someone or thing else taking the responsibility.

And that 49% doesn't want the bother of taking any such responsibility.

I'd like to know how is signing her paychecks these days. Move On. org.? DNC? One of the news networks? Heck, things are getting so weird lately, it might be Hastert doing it. Betcha its NOT the Marine Corps League!

First, they need training:

CAMP SHIELD, Iraq, July 26, 2005 — Distinguished police and military leaders turned out to watch 931 new Iraqi Police officers graduate from their training course at Baghdad Police College on Camp Shield July 21.
...
Baghdad Police College was formerly a three-year academy which produced commissioned officers. The facility is adapting to its new role - training 1,000 new Iraqi Police officers every month.

Then they can go out and kick some butt and take some names:

Posts: 111 Tell this .....................human being to go back and look at the reams of photos taken of the towers, THAT's what we're fighting for!

I do believe that we are in the end times, as in the Bible "end times".

Um...Here's the problem. I won't criticize your philosophies or try to disuade you from enjoying life in the pre-appocalyptic days, but Al Queda destroyed the towers. The members of said terrorist group were infact of Saudi descent.

So it makes perfect sense to attack Afghanistan.

And it would even make sense to occupy Saudi Arabia to get to the bottom of this.

But the towers are not what we're fighting for in Iraq, sorry. Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. If you've watched Bush say "9-11" and in the same sentence "Iraq" enough times, you'll begin to believe it, but don't.

And the whole "if we don't fight them there, we'll fight them here" thing is crap. I can guarentee all of you that had we not invaded Iraq, I would've never found myself confronting an Iraqi and being forced to give 'em the old double tap in front of the local Arby's :).

I feel nothing but sorry for Sheehan, she is being manipulated quite horribly. When this media storm is over, she'll be alone and probably suicidal. She probably wasn't like this before she lost her son. Froma psychological and medical standpoint, I feel only sorry for her and she should perhaps be placed on some sort of mood stabilizers...

Things balance out

Based on ability only, I wouldn't pick Cindy to be the leader for the anti-war movement. Based on ability only, I wouldn't pick Bush to be commander-in-chief. Considering 92% of all American deaths have occurred since Bush opined "mission accomplished" I think Bush is OUT MATCHED and the anti-war movement is in comparatively good hands and will continue to grow... just like Bush's negative ratings and the continuing decline of the public's confidence in his leadership. :barf: it's not Vietnam, it's not Vietnam, it's not Vietnam.

What I'm saying is that Sheehan as the goldenboy (woman) of the anti-war movement which is picking up pace and garnering attentions is going to be cast aside. She'll perhaps be no more than a side note or an honorable mention to legitment speakers and protestors.

It is damn sad that she lost her son though. It's damn sad that there isn't a legitment reason for that in the universal sense...however, it was his choice to join the Army, and in that choice there is honor. Thus, he died honorably and for an honorable cause as people have done since wars were first fought. That honor to which he is entitled shouldn't be placed in jepardy by anyone, including his mother.

No, it's not, but when people begin believing some of the things Sheehan is saying and implying... When people begin transferring their anger from Bush and his administration to our soldiers, well then, the slippery slope can lead to our soldiers coming home to some of the same things. None of us should let that happen.
Cindy Sheehan said:
...and they [American troops] have created more terrorism by going to an Islamic country, devastating the country and killing innocent people in that country.

I don't believe for one instant that Cindy is NOT supporting our troops. But she IS pointing out that innocent people are being killed in this war AS HAS HAPPENED IN EVERY WAR! This war could have been fought and won IF we had a competent commander-in-chief and leader, we don't, instead we have a "faith-based" dreamer. "None of us should let that happen" agreed, now you know the real motivation behind the anti-war movement. It's not about Sheehan. The anti war movement will continue to grow with or without her. She serves as a "poster child" (not my choice) only until someone better captures the public's attention. it's not Vietnam. it's not Vietnam, it's not Vietnam.

Butch50,

You simply underscore what I have stated. Anyone bombing their own citizens isn't going to fit neatly into the pigeonhole of "freedom fighter" - but what about those strictly hitting military targets?

For that matter, in every major war people seen as collaborators with an occupying army were often targets too.

mvpel
The elected soverign government of the nation of Iraq has asked us to stay, as we are working to help train their army and police forces.

Anyone shooting at US troops because they see them as an "occupying army" has no more legitimacy than an American shooting at foreign diplomats, and is no less criminal.

The "elected" government in Iraq is a sham, another client State. Many Iraqis are not so stupid as to believe otherwise.

If we ever have our government reduced to the sham as has been installed in Iraq and they summon a foreign army to enforce their rule; I, and I am sure a few million others, will be throwing hot lead and everything else we can think of at them too.

While I am being brutally honest, I really don't care what you think.
Likewise.

You started the thread and posted it. Evidently for comment. Or was it something else you were expecting?

"The "elected" government in Iraq is a sham, another client State."

Please elaborate, LAK

As I understand it, this is an interim government. They have yet to get a constitution in place. It took the US about a decade to do the same.

As usual the same lot of Communist Traitor Democrats who got us into this war in the name of the United Nations are now bashing those who are fighting it. The fact that this poor woman now stands with the people who murdered her son, is a reflection of the utter lack of education in this country.

Education under the Democrat party thumb results in ignorance, fear and the utter crushing of any glimmer of brilliance.

Too many posters are only products of the Democrat Party education system, which is designed to produce Democrat Party voters, lazy, worthless and ignorant people. Fortunately they are also so incompetent, that even with the billions of dollars they have stolen from the taxpayers (see "The Big Dig" in MA and the Fannie May rip off) they still couldn't buy Algore the White House.
