Another one done

The wood you chose for that stock [flame maple?] is absolutely stunning. Stunning. The rifle is a true work of art. Just Wow! Words fail.

Lefty

Wow!!! Someday when my ship comes in I would love to have a left handed model built!! A fine work of art like one of your rifles displayed above my Tommygun would be beautiful!!! Keep up the excellent work.

This one is a lefty.

Wyosmith I don't just like what I see I love it, and agree it is a work of art. Never be able to aford anything like this. Makes me feel good to know there are few left that can do this kind of work. Think you for sharing. Just open a new door for me. Makes me want to buy a kit take some real time with it see what happens. Think you :)

Well Brother "Shotput", if you do let me know and I'd be honored to coach you through the build.
We need more men keeping the tradition alive.
:)

lerfty

Wyosmith: Nice lefty percussion. I would love a "Flinty" Daniel Boone Pennsylvania style in .36 or .45 caliber. Maybe someday!! Might have to try th kit method if they have them in lefty style!!! Thanks for the pic!!

Yes Vostracker, there are left hand kits made. I know Jim Chambers offers one.
I very seldom use "kits" I have made about 3 in the last 10 years. Nearly all my guns are made from blanks and many have hand made metal parts too, so I am not an authority on what kits are available, but I can vouch for the quality of Chambers kits.

Here are some pics of a left hand long rifle I made for a friend a few years ago.

beautiful

Wyosmith: That "Flinty" is just out of this world gorgeous!! If you dont mind me asking. What does something like that go for? I need to know how long I'll need to start saving for, since I'm on a LEO retirement. LOL!!!

PS: What caliber was it?

Well Vostracker, the 1st rifle I posted pics of sold for $2,800 and the left hand one above sold for $3,400. I make flintlock rifles from about nine hundred to about sever thousand, depending on how fancy they are. I build to the customer’s budget, so in effect, if the price can be $900 or more, you'd tell me what a rifle will cost instead of me telling you.

My back log is a mixed blessing. The down side is that it takes a 2 1/2 to 3 year wait to get one of my rifles and the good side is that almost everyone can afford what they really want, if they spread out the payments over 3 years.
I feel bad telling people that they will have to wait 3 years, but I can't do anymore. I am working 12 hour days and 6 days a week now. It's all I can do. What I ask for up-front is only the price of parts and materials. Send NO MONEY for labor until I am ready to go to work. Put it in an envelope as you earn it, and save it for me until I call or write, and let you know it's your turn.
If you'd like me to "bank" that money for you , I can, but I don't really bank it. (I don't use banks ever. I made predictions that the banking industry would be the largest weapon for socialists to destroy this country over 30 years ago, and time has proven me right.
I refuse to help socialists destroy my own country. )
I just put your cash in an envelope with you name on it in my safe and it never gets touched until I am earning it. If for any reason you ever had to back out, you'd get all your parts and materials back, and all your money that was sent for labor in the future. In that way, I feel I can be fair in my business dealings with everyone, and the only thing you'd risk is me dying before I get to you gun.
(I am not too worried about that yet. I am in very good health)

Awesome! What's with the "Attitude" on the patchbox?

Hey, "Attitude" gets the job done! :D

It applies not just to work ethics but everyday life:D

WYOSMITH: That is one extraordinary piece of art my friend. Now are you ready to explore the newly acquired Louisiana Territory? Perhaps even venture into the mountains all the way out west which are rumored to hold great amounts of gold and iron?

Yes indeed Rachen
In fact, I live in the middle of the "shinnin mountain country". In the Wind River Valley. We still have big bear, buff, and all manor of running game fit for sport and table fare.
:)

My customer Carlin is the man who bought this rifle, (first set of pics on page 1) but he's been informed that he has cancer. It's now got to be sold to help him pay medical bills.
Please pray for him
Here is his note he asked me to post.
____________________________________________________________
I found out this past Friday that my cancer has returned. I'm scheduled for
Another surgery along with some form of chemotherapy. Unfortunately, I need
to sell this flintlock to help pay the bills. Steve says the gun is worth
$3500.

If any of you men can buy this rifle from him I am sure he's be very appreciative.

Those rifles are so beautiful, I would put them under glass and never take them out. For what your getting, they don't seem very expensive. I wish they were within my means, I'd buy one yesterday!

Your blanks are some of the nicest wood I have seen, the carving and metal work superb. I struggle just to do some basic wire inlay. These are among the nicest rifles I have seen and you are giving them away at those prices. Thanks for sharing this.
