Another Attack in San Francisco.....

They'll pass the law, the law will be struck down by the State and the City will spend $1 million in a deficit year defending itself. Typical politicians. :barf:

Australia?

... Aside from this resembling the tragic gun bans in Australia (guys, feel free to move to the US, we still respect your rights!), this give me two opinions:

1... Alot of innocent people are gonna get hurt by this ban if it passes, and no doubt the liberal politicians and anti-gunners will be clueless as to why crime went up, probably blaming it on everything from right-wing conspiracy to phases of the moon.

2... Hopefully, a few more anti-gunners, hippie-crits, ecoterrorists, and supporters of Islamo-Facist extremists will no longer be around to bother us once the crime rates spike.

I wonder if a PI can keep a gun, or a bailbonds enforcement officer. I would start looking at reqirements for both,or give my guns to relatives, because I bet 90 days will pass before a case gets resolved, in a gun grab, do they have to pay for the gun, or is it just a confiscation? I think a "bounty hunter" just needs to register, and they are immune to most laws. Is this feinstein's district? Sorry about all the questions. It just seems to me about half of the first 10 amendments to the constitution would be broken by this law.

The State Supreme Court has already ruled that state law preempts only in the realm of licensing and registration, not on possession, in the Nordyke case.

A legal challenge would have a tough row to hoe unless and until there's a Constitutional Amendment.

Good, take guns away from Kommifornia

The fewer guns they have, the better. People that dumb should be concidered legally insane, and therfore unable to own guns! I would be moving out of the craphole, that thinks it's its own stinkin country. Drop a nuke, solve the prob. :p

Crime will go up in california because the moon is getting closer to the earth, causing tides to go up, causing people to become irrational, all because the ailens are pushing the moon closer in an attempt to cause this.

Does anyone else here feel sorry for the honest gun wanting Kalifornians? I lived in Florida for 32 years, eas very gun friendly. Moved to PA(don't ask why...the winters do su*k) and they are even more gun friendly. When they told me a CCW permit was $25 bucks....for 5 years....I about fell over. Seems like the majority of murders by gun happen in Phili, where they have very strict gun laws and CCW is a felony. Gee, Phili, DC...seems like a trend? Wonder what will happen in SanFran?

Why did Bush attack Iraq?

Not enough oil in Kalifornistan? :D

Do you mean to say you can't carry in Phili even with a CWP? Is CC without a perm a felony just in the city limits or all of PA?

Well being one who is stuck in Kali. I have to roll my eyes about these anti-arms movements. My therory is if these groups don't want guns around send them into Oakland in the Highland district (unarmed) and let them collect them for themselves. Hehehe. :D

San Francisco to ban handguns, Again

They tried this, under DIFI, in the early '80s. The courts threw it out then, for it was violative of existing STATE LAW. I believe the law to be unchanged, though the occupant of the state AG's office is.

One wonders which will hold sway, an anti gun AG, the law or perish the thought, COMMOM SENSE?

Yea PsychoSword, I have PA permit and can carry anywhere in the state.....except Philadelphia. They have a local law banning CCW. I believe in local law, but this is a bit stupid to me. If you like unsafe streets in PA, Phili is the most likley place to get shot.

Now they find out that Bush did not invade Iraq for oil, it was to stop terrorists that were killing tens of thousands of people. Seems like Kofi Annan, Mark Rich (Clintons buddy), France and Russia were the ones there for the oil. Go Figure

From the story....

Firearms would be allowed only for police officers, security guards, members of the military, (CRIMINALS) and anyone else "actually employed and engaged in protecting and preserving property or life within the scope of his or her employment," according to the measure.

:D

couldn't resist

Since that time, there's also been a state Supreme Court ruling on the meaning of California's preemption law that, in their zeal to destroy gun shows in the state, they determined to apply only to licensing and registration of firearms, not possession.

That's how Alameda County's ordinance banning possession of guns on county property was upheld.

Does anyone know when the Big One is going to hit California? I've been waiting for that state (especially the Bay area) to fall into the ocean for years. :D

And yes, I am a native Californian seeking political asylum in a more gun-friendly state.

Enuf already! Don't judge the state until you've lived under the tyranny of majority rule without regard to constitutional limits. Your courts and politicos would be just as corrupt if there was as much tax money flowing around as we have here. :(

Cowled_Wolfe asked:

What's common sense?

In this case, "common sense" is the recognition that disarming the law abiding only makes life easier for criminals. Do you have a definition that you like better?

Cal4D4 offered:

In the late 1960's, I lived for a time in California, Berkley and Oakland in particular. I believe that there was just as much tax money flowing then as there is currently. The courts and politicos were just as corrupt then as now, though I do believe that the political slant was somewhat different, in that it leaned more to the right than to the left, as it does nowadays.
