ankle holster

I need advice on a good ankle holster for my kel-tec p-32. Now that the cooler weather is here it's back into long pants. My employer, while not prohibiting ccw, doesn't want to know it's there. it's an manufacturing facility with lots of moving and carrying, so iwb can be a problem. thanks.

I concur with the Inspector. I carry an sp101 in an Alessi ankle rig. Have for 2 yrs.+. It's seen some abuse, i.e., wading through a flooded parking lot. Still in very good shape. I jog up and dowm stairs quite a bit at work, that holster holds the gun very securely. I've never had a gun on the ground incident, which at my job would lead to my termination. Try www.rfholsters.com. If you phone them talk to Ray, he was VERY helpful. I was extremely impressed with the level of service I recieved. :D

outrigger,

I have an Alessi & Renegade ankle holster for my Glock26.
The Alessi is very pretty but for comfort and for guaranteed keeping the arm above the ankle, the Renegade has a FAR better design.

P.S. Want to buy the Alessi?

POCKET CARRY (HOLSTERS???)

Any thought on pocket carry with your P32? Anyone have any thoughts on some of the pocket holsters available?

Ankle holsters...

I never thought I wanted one. It seemed to me that an ankle holster would bother me. However, when North American Arms had the DeSantis "Apache" for small autos on sale, I decided that it was at such a good price that I would buy one.
It turned out to be one of the best purchases I've ever made. It's all neoprene and holds itself together with velcro. I carry my P-32 almost daily down on my left ankle. It truly is a "put on and forget" thing. Even if you have to pay retail for the Apache, it's not expensive, and it's mighty comforting to have a P-32 filled with Cor-Bon hollow points tucked away. (No matter what is on my hip!)

Your little .32 is most likely light enough to use a velcro & nylon rig. I tried a few of them with my 357mag sp101. The gun was just flat out too heavy to remain active without it moving around a lot. The Alessi rig has been a dream since day one. In my case it's BY FAR the most comfortable. But your prefference could be different. If a $20 rig works, great!!! Mine cost $110 in a LH model, but every cent was well spent.

Tom, I got my renegade from www.emergencysec.com It was 46 bucks and worth every penny. Lou makes a great product and is a swell guy but I'm not a big fan of solid molded holsters for the ankle. (especially at twice the price) They tend to protrude a bit too much and the renegade design really pulls the gun in tight so straight legs jeans are no problem...

http://www.kahrshop.com/accessindex.html this link shows you a nice picture of the rig for a kahr 9...the above link only has pencil sketchings...

Dont shoot has a valid point. My sp101 tucks in perfectly underneath my calf. Straight-leg jeans work just fine. You are right though, if I had bird legs it would probably stick out.

Do any of the ankle holsters for the Keltec P32 have a pouch for an extra mag... of anyone ever sew such a pouch onto an ankle holster? I may think of getting one for backup law enforcement carry.

Here's a link to the ankle holster I carry my G27 in...

It works well and is pretty comfortable. I love the fact that I don't have to wear it so tight. The boot laces keep it from moving even when worn loose enough to get circulaion to my left foot!

I'd love to try an Alessi but I just don't have that much holster money right now. I think an Alessi would be hard pressed to beat the BootLock when worn with, and laced into a boot! I got the BootLock from a fellow officer used at a good price. :)

Sounds to me like you need to be looking at pocket holsters also. Ankle rigs are about the most difficult to draw from. Pocket holsters, while not IDPA material, are a little more feasible on the draw. If you wear Dockers (or similar relaxed fit trousers) then a pocket holster might be just the thing.

Everyone should also remember, it is not an either or situation. You can comfortably hide the gun on your ankle, then tranfer to a pocket later. I do this at night since a gun in the pocket is a pain to sit on, harder to get while driving, and not very flattering fashion wise. If you like to go out with just a t-shirt...simply put it on your ankle and throw it in your pocket with your shirt out for the walk back to the car.

it's not dockers, it's jeans. while a pocket holster would work most of the time in the past, i've been made by fellow workers. i thought the ankle holster would be a way to carry while being comfortable and hidden.

You know, for a Glock, or S&W, or Ruger, etc... the best is what you need. But for something as teeny tiny as the P32, an Uncle Mike's #1 pocket holster, and the DeSantis Apache are all a man needs to EASILY conceal his baby Kel-Tec in any mode of dress, including jeans.
