They are a handful, but if they weren't recoil would be punishing. Try shooting a S&W 329, which is a VERY light 44 magnum......IT HURTS!
Prices on 29's are all over the board.....I would think it is worth around $500, but in certain areas, or on CERTAIN FORUMS the price could be a lot higher.
Deals among friends and aquaintances are the best deals, as usually it's not all about profiteering.
If you get the 29, you will be very happy with it, as long as 44 magnum is "for you". While it hasn't been "The World's Most Poweful Handgun" for quite some time it IS very powerful, and some people buy them, only to trade them off, after finding they bit off more than they could chew.
I have purchased quite a few 44 magnums used that guy behind the gun counter said "It's only been fired about a dozen rounds". And those weren't because the gun was faulty.
BUT.....somewhere down the line, you will come across an Anaconda at a good price, and you will HAVE to HAVE it.
