CastleBravo,

HAHAHAHAHA!, I 'bout fell out of my chair at that.

LawDog,

Carpetbagger or no, that was a dang good post. ;)

AHHH! Now there are two people I used to think were good Texans that have turned out to be nothing but carpetbaggers! No wonder my beloved state is going down the tubes.

Just kidding guys. I guess not all you Yankee carpetbaggers are bad for Texas...some of you might even be good for her...well, prolly just you two. Dang that is hard to admit. :D

sw44wcf: Here in Reno, you can get arrested for flipping someone the bird. It's called "Provoking Assualt". Any word, action, or gesture used to try to get someone to take a poke at you, or even to just tick them off so they WANT to take a poke at you. Yeah, it's a BS charge...until you've got some little POS of the variety that LawDog describes who just won't shut up and be a good boy, and then gives you the one finger salute when you politely try to tell them it's time they go back inside their apartment and sleep it off, and you can't arrest for public intoxication since 1) you need a breathalyzer test and 2)you're security with no access to a breathalyzer and 3) you can't "detain" him/her until police arrive, since security doesn't have the power to "detain"...Then, it comes in REAL handy. Arrest him for provoking assault, charge him with battery when he resists, and then see what kind of good stuff the cops find on him when they get there...MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Lawdog,
After recently finding TFL I was surprised and pleased to read your letter this evening. Your words remind me of the backwoods town I grew up in in Ohio. If the local deputy had to arrest someone you could bet it was for something bad. Most times you just got a stern talking to then were taken home to face your parents. And with my parents you sometimes wish the deputy had taken you to jail! Thanks again. Maakes me wish for a simpler time.

Yeah, that's great. Nevermind the First Amendment - whatever it takes to get our way, right?

:barf:

Lawdog

Thank You.
It is so good to read common sense. :D

scbair - Welcome Aboard, your're fittin' in just fine.

I'm in AR - Where the Sheriff or Local LEO's will still run a box of ammo out to the Widow residing down off the highway. Upon hearing this the bunny huggers, and good two-shoes get all jittery and upset. Sheriff: "Follow the road that brung ya - might not want to be around after dark.". He was not smiling.

When asked why a widow women needs ammo- " She is 3/3 for Yankees using her front yard as a turn-around. Bunnies that get into the garden get cooked with the veggies".

I don't think they ever came down again to visit relatives... ;)

Why?

"I got $1000 cash that says Texas can't anschluss PRNJ."

Practical considerations like geography and civil war aside -

Why would Texas WANT to?

Seems like the PRNJ is everything Texas is proud NOT to be. ;)

Top 10 reasons why Texas should invade New Jersey

  1. Three seasons that are not summer.
  2. Nearer to the Stetson factory.
  3. Real New York cheesecakes.
  4. Real Philadelphia hoagies.
  5. No killer bees.
  6. No fire ants.
  7. Same reason Mallory tried for Everest.
  8. Get it before it metastasizes.
  9. Hose out seven million or so suburbatronic units and it'd be pretty good pastureland.
  10. If you won't, it really means you're chicken.

11. Teach some of the barbarians in the NE about a magical technology called air conditioning, so summers are survivable without hundreds of gallons of water.

And Lawdog, TX does have a couple statutes that can be used against people who carry rifles or shotguns. It's all a matter of interpretation.
Disorderly Conduct - TX PC 42.01(a)(9)
http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/statutes/docs/PE/content/htm/pe.009.00.000042.00.htm#42.01.00
displays a firearm or other deadly weapon in a public place in a manner calculated to alarm;
While *you* may not use that when some incontinent liberal complains about open carry of long arms, I can assure you that it would be used against me in a heartbeat if I slung a rifle over my shoulder and walked to 7/11. I'd also likely be charged with one count of assault for each person who complained.

Assault - 22.01 (a)(3)
http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/statutes/docs/PE/content/htm/pe.005.00.000022.00.htm#22.01.00
intentionally or knowingly causes physical contact with another when the person knows or should reasonably believe that the other will regard the contact as offensive or provocative.

Sigh..... :(

Makes me want to move to Texas

I'll gladly give up the right to flip a bird for the right to carry
