Ammo storage. Plastic or Metal cans?

That's worked for me for decades and my house isn't even air conditioned, but ammo cans do make it easier to pile the stuff up. I probably have a dozen and a half cans for just that reason.

Will have to pick up a few at the next gun show. Had a couple years ago, but I think I gave them away over the years.

Keep it dry and away from sudden changes in temperature and your good to go no matter what type of container.

The metal cans were good enough for the military and decades of storage, they're good enough for me. Stout handles, good seal, painted metal, what's to complain about?

I keep all of my ammo in steel cans, I have a 5.56 and a .50 can right now. Around here the smaller 5.56mm cans go for around $13.00-$20.00. The big 50 cal cans go for $20.00 to $40.00. I am talking about gun show prices by the way.
