I think the OP is complaining that Wolf is charging too much for its product. I think that the OP believes that this is some type of evil market manipulation. This is an opportunity for a very simple economics lesson.
- There are many manufacturers of ammunition, both foreign and domestic
- The price of ammunition varies somewhat from brand to brand
- Ammunition from several brands is very likely to be available at a store near you.
- Probably at more than one store
- and online, from more than one seller
If the product is made by several makers, sold everywhere, and varies in price then by definition the game cannot be rigged.
If ammo were hard to find, in short supply and always the same price no matter who you buy it from you'd have an issue to complain about--probably market rigging or price collusion of some sort.
But the facts of the ammunition market in the USA say that the prices are where they are because supply and demand have put them there. Gun ownership is rising (see the stories about record black friday gun sales). People are shooting more (I can't get a lane at my range). People are stockpiling ammo for the end of the world (see innumerable threads on TFL) . Wars are going on(duh). The dollar in 2011 ain't the dollar from 2001 (I refuse to cite a source for this. If you wanna challenge it talk to Ben Bernarke).
Let's all agree to stop shooting and stockpiling ammo so the price will come down, shall we??
Or we can just realize that things sell for what they are worth, always. Unless there is market manipulation (as in forcing you to buy a product or restricting production of an item to only a few manufacturers, or to only a certain quantity). Which isn't the case here.
I'm going with option 2
