Am I being totally off the wall?

Since I know many folks with "mad" AR buildin' skills, I know I could glean the info to build a tack driver varmint rifle...

I am not into tactical... anything... But the AR as a Sporter is just as fine as a B.A.R. in rich wood...

I would love to be able to justify the need for an AR set up just to suit me and my needs!

Are you being off the wall? Yes.

My whole point to him was that in my opinion ARs don't have a purpose for civilians. They were developed for the m16 and or combat on people.

I see you have confused design intent with platform application. Being used on people is an application issue, not a design issue. It as designed to fire a high velocity small caliber projectile in a controlled manner over and over again.

To me they have no practical use but to just mess around with. And they dont dominate any shooting skill except for mag capacity.

So you are naive about application. Mag capacity is not a shooting skill.

Not as accurate as a bolt, not fully auto and suited for combat and that's it.
I have had 3 factory ARs that were ever bit as accurate and even more accurate than both guns with sub MOA groups.

I have some screen shots of our conversation and there is some things in there that I didn't word right because I was busy so if you have any questions by what I mean then just ask!

Okay, why are you so closed minded about AR15s? Just because you don't think they have any practical civilian applications doesn't make your opinion valid and shows a lot of ignorance on your part.

No practical use for civilians? Home defense and hunting aren't practical applications? Competition and recreation aren't practical applications?

This thread has run its course. It started as a General Discussion thread, but at this point, it belongs in the Rifle section.

Except I'm not inflicting it on those folks, so...
