http://handgunlaw.us is a good start. That site normally tells you what state agency regulates permits in your state, so the next logical step would be to find the website(s) for that agency, and look there, as well.
If you like to go old-fashioned, your county courthouse will have a legal library that should be open to you, as well.
In addition to the handgunlaw site, which provides a nice digest, you might also look into your state's actual codes: Nevada Firearm, and Weapon Law Compendium looks like it could be worth the $20
You might also try Nevada's equivalent of, CA Dept.of Justice.gov. (Don't know what it might be called in Nev. but info is free and from the horse's mouth).
Then you need to check both your county and city rules and regs because they all vary a bit. So it is that LGS's might exhibit a bit of confusion, for just cause.
