All the ammo in Wal Mart, Academy, etc. is gone.

Same here, 3/8. As late as 4:00 p.m. in the afternoon, 12 hours after stock was placed on shelves, I was able to buy (2) WWB 9mm and a brick of .22LR. They also has 45ACP as well.

I went by 3 wal-marts the other day and non had 9mm. They all told me 3-4 weeks!! These wal-marts were separated by at least 100 miles....:confused::confused::confused:

I stopped in my Walmart early yesterday afternoon. No 9mm, but they did have 4, 100-rd boxes of .40 Smith & Wesson WWB. I think each was $31.97 FWIW, the marked price of 9mm WWB was $11.97 for a 50-rd box, and $21.97for a 100-rd box.

Ok, So most of you figured out it was a fake story..just dripping with sarcasm hu? But you know what? It was not as fake as it seems.

I am the farther whose kid asked him Friday night to go shooting over the weekend. Well Saturday I set out looking for some ammo and guess what? That’s right, it was not to easy to find…even the .22 lr I was not able to find in bricks and what I did find the prices had gone up 25-50% over the last couple of months This really got to me.

It is not the government that is making it hard to find ammo, it is not the government making the prices of ammo go up, it is all the crazy people who are freaked out about something that has not happened…and may not even happen.

The same people who are stock pilling ammo are the same people who made mad dashes to the stores to buy rice when there was a supposable shortage of that too, or the same people on the East coast that runs out and buys tons of supplies every time a tropical depression comes off Africa and the news tells them it is going to be a category 10 hurricane that is going to wipe out the entire eastern seaboard. For the love of God people, stop buying into all the media BS.

Right now our sport is being ruined because of people freaking out and buying everything they can lay their greedy hands on. So you can all pat yourself on the back because you have done exactly what the Media says the government might do….but they did not have to make the effort to do.

My purpose behind this post was to hopefully make a few people step back and realize what was going on and maybe come back to reality. So hopefully I have brought a few people back. And yes, I will be posting this on some other forums, so if you see it…please don’t ruin it right off the bat.

Thanks,

A Concerned Shooting Enthusiast

Dax

Wonder how much of the 'BAIL OUT' money went to the guns/ammo industry:rolleyes:? Oh I forgot, they don`t need any. They are probably one of the few industries(if not the only) thats not hurting. Why? Probably cause people are HOARDING.:p

Went on an Ammo Run Today

Daxe I know your just kidding.. Trouble is the people that ran out and bought up everything in the country gun related also:

bought up all the generators and gas cans etc etc during y2k .

They are the same people that sit in the gas lines for and hour maybe 2 in order to save 5 cents a gallon.

The same person that when it's their turn to hit the golf ball their on their cell phone or lighting up a smoke.

The same person that drives in the passing lane for 5 miles going 50 mph.

The same person (maybe their parents) who did basically the same thing with guns an ammo in the late 80's when there was talk right after he was elected that Clinton was going to declare Marshall law and take our stuff away.

But what they are most important of all. There the people that are lying to the rest of us. AND DIDN'T GET OFF THEIR BUTTS AND GET OUT AND VOTE LIKE THE REST OF US DID. or maybe they did..... And now we are paying for it..

Just my view of things based on what I see..If anyone is offended sorry. Get out and vote in the next 2 years and we can eliminate 1/2 our problems.

I did buy 6 boxes of 9mm today for $19.97 a box of 100. Don't worry they still had some left and I plan on shooting it up fast when I get my new 9mm.

OH MY LOOK OUT FOR THE TOILET PAPER SHORTAGE .MY SIX DAUGHTER'S AND THEIR KIDS ARE COMING FOR WIFES BIRTHDAY . WHATS NEXT.

DAMN IT!!

I stopped at Dunhams today and they had Wolf 7.62x39 on sale for $5.99 a box...of course someone came in early and bought all 36 boxes...

I left my name and asked them to call me if they got any more in.

The Dunham's here probably has 100 or so boxes of just 7.62x39mm wolf :D

That's okay though, I just got 2K of wolf in from sportsmans guide for $475 :D ...its been on backorder for about 4 months though! lol!

Just picked up at walmart......

$12.47 for the .40 Blazer Brass ~ 3 boxes
$19.87 for the 9mm WWB (100 pack) ~ 2 boxes

They had probably 10 boxes of the 9mm and a about 5 boxes of .40...

Large Gun Show Last Week End

The show started @ 9:00 am-I got there at 10:00 am on the first day.
60,000 sq feet of tables with 4,000-6,000 visitors. It was shoulder to shoulder.
There was no ammo at all! I saw 3 boxes of .45 ACP. The gun dealers with autos had almost all .22 autos-less than 1% were big enough for self defense.
There were 4-double action revolvers, three of them used (hard) There was a half dozen of .50 cal handguns and maybe 20-25 M-16 type semi autos. No clips
no ammo-NONE AT ALL. No 9mm-.357 .40 .45 or even .22 rimfire. Rifle ammo was military type ball for Swiss and some Swedish 5.7 mm maybe 300 rounds of each. No .308 or 30-06. Some lever rifles and old shotguns. LOts of knives and
old books. The local stores have a couple boxes of most cal. and same with
bullets. Powder was well stocked in the stores.
For what it worth

Well, I have to disagree, to a degree.

I've been caught a little short on ammo as of late too... but I'm not going to blame the folks that went out and bought a zillion rounds.... why?

because I was once a boy scout and I know the first rule is be prepared.

Ammunition

I took the month of February off from shooting because of the cold.Went to my local Walmart on Sunday to buy a box of .22 to go plinking with.As I rounded the isle I was horrified to find the ammunition case practically Empty! Not even a box of my favorite Federal bulk.22!The clerk said as soon as it comes in it's out the door.Called evry Wallmart within a 50 mile radius.Same thing!Went on lineto buy.OUT OF STOCK!I hate those words!I know there have been shortages of other calibers but.22?This is the United States not Europe! Needless to say I'm devestated, and REALLY ****** OFF! I would like to thank everyone who elected an extremely anti gun president and congress, for bringing frustration to a sport that normall brings me joy.I dread what the future holds for our sport.I can only hope things will get better 4 years from now.

Same old story and song and dance on a thousand posts. Either there is plenty enough ammo and you don't like the prices, or all the ammo is gone and everyone is afraid they won't make any more. Would be nice to be an ammo maker. I wonder how many of those companies are traded publicly and what their stocks look like. Probably not laying off anyone right now.

hey dax ammo isnt that scarce yet i can get almost all ammo at walmart the only ammo that is scarce is 9mm. 22lr is there all day long. I do agree that we need to stock pile ammo but not to the point where im going to burry it. keep your eyes open for local gun shows always have ammo there and its fairly cheap.

I can get any ammo I want, too.

I think this is just snowballing out of proportion. Yeah, you have your sales driven by crazy Obama BS, but then when the average joe like you or me goes to wally world to see bare shelves, we aren't gonna let it happen again. We want to shoot!
Next lot, you have a few regular guys who love shooting buying 2-3x more than they normally would just out of fear they won't be able to shoot anymore. I know I've had that thought. If I didn't already have quite a pile, I'd be doing the same thing.
I think it will die down eventually. Problem with ammo is that it never seems to get any cheaper as time moves on, so that just makes the problems worse.
