All the ammo in Wal Mart, Academy, etc. is gone.

It's the same thing her in San Diego County. They only seem to have .22 ammo in sufficient quantities. Local guy told me that none of the warehouses have any at all.

I sweet-talked the ammo clerk to know the exact time when it's stocked. I hate to horde, but I wiped out their 9mm & .45 acp in Blazer Brass. It looks like every man for himself during the Obama-Democratic "scare".....:(

Whatever

I live within 30 miles of the WM corp office, and within 20 minutes of approx. 10 supercenters. There is almost no ammo to be found at them. The managers here say the warehouses are empty. Also within 20-30 min. travel time. The only really trustworthy person told me that WM is moving out of the handgun ammo business. Also there is a Sportsman Warehouse 10 minutes down the interstate, pretty well empty of pistol ammo or reloading supplies for same

Sorry, in my last statement I should haave said trying to get out of the bus. of ammo for handguns(for political reasons).

HR45 Will not pass

HR45 if introduced will not pass. Trying to ban all automatic weapons? I think not. What about auto shotguns, hunting rifles (308). The hue and cry would be so loud the idiots that tried to pass such a bill would be undertaking political suicide. This just ante gonna happen period. Talk about conspiracy theory, get a grip man.

I'll bet people said similar things about prohibition all those years back. I think that the population of drinkers is a bit larger than the population of firearms owners, too. ;)

Not too many years ago, by my lifetime's reckoning, if a person mentioned a possible abortion, they would have been run out of town. Not too long ago, "In God We Trust" was on every piece of currency in the U.S. Not too long ago, ballgames were opened with prayers. Gun bans can and probably will happen, sooner or later. What's to stop it? The Constitution has become just a reference point in passing for liberal lawmakers and judges. It no longer exists in reality. Today we have a Democrat-controlled House, Senate, and Presidency, and a Supreme Court one justice away from being totally liberal, and that one will be installed during the Obama administration without doubt. Any outcry on behalf of the American gun owners didn't take place last November...the pocketbook and isolationism will win out over guns every time in this day and age. The Thought Police will see to that. Yell all you want to...the media has to air it before it gets heard, and they won't.
Times aren't really changing...times are progressing down the same road that began for real about 70 years ago. I despise it because of my grandchildren...they will never know the freedom and values we (meaning myself and others like me) once held, even if we try our best to teach those to them.
Yes, there is a shortage of ammo and components here in Central Texas also. I have enough, though not through hoarding, to last me the rest of my hunting lifetime....the older I get, the less I feel a real need to shoot every time I get in the blind. With fewer and fewer places to hunt and shoot, I can only hope my grandchildren will have some opportunity to enjoy what I have enjoyed since the age of 5. My fear and gut-feeling is that those days are numbered. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think I am.

Locally, no problem, Walmart and Academy all stocked up. It's the hysteric suburbanites with disposable income creating a panic.

As for HR 45, it's just HR 2666 reintroduced. At last check, it went to the Committee of the Judiciary with no extra sponsors. There are serious constitutional questions that impact the 4,5, and other amendments. One issue specifically is the property rights transfer of goods from one citizen to another. Basically, I can give or will my property to whom I please. Subverting that will create an avalanche of lawsuits that probably will be decided at the first level.

If HR 2666 never got traction, this won't either. The president couldn't even spend political capital to shield his tax evading appointments and get them in office, Dem majority or not. A gun bill any time before fixing the economy will be another significant problem area the party would like to keep out of the news. It would resonate just like Wall Streeters handing out million dollar spa vacations and bonuses - what the heck do those idiots think they're doing?

Many of you are the very reason that there is no ammo, and what ammo there is, is sky high in price. Same reason gas got so high.

I saw where someone said they went and bought all 2400 rounds of .40 at their Wal-Mart. What are you going to do with that? Kill a lot of zombies? LOL.

It really sucks that so many can get suckered. I guess people really believe that Obama was going to be able to ban all ammo and guns within days of his election or inauguration.

found a walmart today that actually had ammo.. i didnt even think to look for 9mm, but they did have plenty of bulk .22(probably 30 boxes of federal 13.47/550).... also had lots and lots of 12/20 gauge shot/slugs ... this walmart also had 4 glass twirlies full of longs guns.. i was very impressed.... oh the location is gallilpolis oh... they also had reloading stuff. ive heard some had this, but i have never seen that at my local WMs.

Wally world in Miami, FL out of ammo!!!!

Just looking for some help. I went to the two walmarts in miami today to buy ammo and there were completely depleted, no .45 acp no .223 no almost anything except .40 and some rifle rounds, they didn't even have .22lr in the 500 to 550 packs. Is this going on any where else in the country or even in the state? I will drive a couple of ours north for some ammo. The prices at the shops down here ar ridiculous.

What information I could get out of the boxmart clerk; is that the ammo manufacturers are asking too much and won't sale a lot of ammo the them because of the low prices that walmart sales at.

I've got a friend who works in a Wal-mart general merchandise distribution center. Apparently, the entire chain went over to a new inventory and ordering system recently, and they are having HUGE problems with it. Some stores are getting nothing, some are getting ridiculous amounts of slow-selling items, and some stores can't order for entire departments. The bad part is they apparently cannot override the system, and it's REALLY messing things up.
My local store is out of ammo, men's socks, and about half of the hardware department was empty. But they have boxes and boxes of suspenders, more copy paper than they know what to do with, and enough Hot Wheels cars to make a real car.

Avenger, as much as I hate to say it, socks, ammo and hardware being gone from a Wal-Mart just sounds like people preparing. ;) I mean, those are essentials, right? Well.....other than food and water.

We stalked a Walmart tonight and talked to the night manager and he said that they would be stocking ammo at about 10 p.m. We went down there and bought about half of what they had but I don't think that other shooters will get the rest because another clerk told us that an employee from that #%&@% gun shop was there earlier and he even had the guts to be wearing a shirt with the store logo on it. We ask all the shooters we know if they need ammo and then go and buy for everyone.
I feel bad for the small gun shop owner and I even prefer to buy my guns from them instead of the larger stores and I don't mind paying a little more, I just bought a Springfield loaded from a mom and pop shop that I'm picking up on Saturday, :) But buying a gun is a once in a while thing for me but cheap ammo is a must and when I can get it I'll take it. What good is a car without affordable gas?

WHAT? Now I have to stock up on socks?

What the hell is up with ammo lately?

I've read a few posts talking about ammo being scarce. I just went to Wal-Mart for some cheap 22 bulk ammo and they were out of pretty much every kind of ammo there is. Is there some ammo shortage going on? Is it Obama's fault?
