All the ammo in Wal Mart, Academy, etc. is gone.

Was at my local Wally World tonight. Like all of it. Gone. Only thing they had left were some 7mm rifle rounds. I was amazed. The lady said they sold a crap load today alone. I hope they boost production so I can buy some more.

A guy I work with went from store to store (not just Wal-Mart) today buying up ammo, he spent a total of $1400 on ammo alone just today.

A few weeks ago, I was laughing at people saying Wal-Mart was out of ammo in there area. until a few days ago, I found out my Walmart in Vegas was out too.:barf:

Thank God I bought a case a few month's ago.

I just can shoot as much centerfire ammo anymore. Thank God I bought a 22.

Obama has stimulated one part of the economy for sure. :D Ammo and ARs are gone around me locally.

The WalMart near me still has some BlazerBrass .45ACP on hand - at $15/box of 50, the price isn't too bad.

I went into the outlying areas where I live with 5 and 10 thousand people and found the little walmarts. They had lots of handgun ammo because most of their sales are for hunters.

Something to try.

Discovered a little trick when it comes to WalMart . . . Apparently they stock the shelves on set schedules, but may have some limited inventory in the back of the store for items in areas with not much shelf space or which require sale limitations such as age. For things that are being sold quicker than normally, the shelves may be empty, but they could be sitting on lots of stuff in the back waiting on the next scheduled restock.

If (and this is a big IF) you can find a helpful manager (blue vested folks are useless), he/she may actually know where to look in the storeroom and get stuff for you before the restock occurs.

Went to two Wally's yesterday and the cupboards were bare - only a few boxes of .25 ACP and .357 SIG left. Time to get the Dillon crankin'........:D

Regards,

I'm done buying my ammo there. Seems like every time it's like pulling teeth to get someone to unlock the case for me.

A couple of weeks ago, I had a bit of an issue with the guy at the door wanting to check through my bag and double check my receipt to make sure that I wasn't stealing anything. I complied politely until he asked what that "bump under my shirt was" and wouldn't accept my quietly answering that it was the butt of my Ruger, which I was licensed to legally carry. I sternly refused to lift up my shirt to prove it and have to worry about being charged with brandishing and who knows what else. It took me threatening to call the police and him calling his manager to get me out the door.

Yesterday at a different Wal-Mart (stopped shopping at the first), after waiting for 30 mins while they ran around trying to find the person who was supposed to be in Sporting Goods, they discovered that he had taken the ONLY KEY TO THE CASE and went on break. The only thing I buy there is bulk .22 (reload for all my centerfires) so I'm just going to pay the little bit extra and buy it someplace else.

Next time the answer is "That is none of your business. Have a nice day." as you walk out. They cannot legally detain you. If they touch you it's assault. If they attempt to detain you it's unlawful imprisonment. I would never tell any WalMart employee that I have a CCW. All they can do is follow you in the parking lot and write down your license plate number and call the police. They will need something more than just you had a bulge under your jacket to get the police to look up your address and chase you down.

Another answer, "That's my colostomy bag and no I will not show you."

Yea you could say it is your bag, and it might burst right here in the store if I cannot leave soon. But it sounds also like you have some issues with your sidearm CCW printing thru. I would hope it is not obvious to a casual observer or maybe re assess your rig.

I agree with Tom, if the lowest common denominator that was working the door at Walmart can see that you are carrying concealed, then you aren't very concealed. I certainly would not tell that person that I was carrying. I would have just politely left, or asked to speak to his manager then step aside and quietly explain it to the manager. You are lucky that he didn't call the police on you when you mentioned you had a gun. Then you would have to explain to the police how he knew you were carrying a gun that is supposed to be concealed.

Sorry, Buzz Kill, but even the lowest common denominator may be aware of concealed carry (they may even have a permit - who knows). So what if someone might think you are carrying; as long as you are not brandishing in most states you are legal. My 1911 has been seen by a few store employees when I reach for something on that top shelf or when I bend to put heavy items on the bottom of the cart. No big deal. If asked I respond without giving any unnecessary information and do not always reply with an answer to their question. And I make sure that I do not carry in any establishment that states no handguns at any time as it is their prerogative as the owner(s) of that store.

Back to the subject - there is hardly any capacity in the world for consumer ammunition as with two (2) war fronts and all of the unrest in the world, military procurement has taken the capacity. The same rounds I purchased for $14 a box now goes for $25 and more. My personal inventory may be lower than normal but still got enough.

Yup, my local Wally World is out of most ammo also. The only .22LR they have is lead, not plated, or CCI hypers for $5.50 box of 50. No 9mm, no .40, no .45... :(

So, I bought 1000 rounds of 9mm from CTD...

Nailed it. In my opinion, it belongs on your hip for all the world to see. I cover it up to be polite, but I'm not going to carry less gun just because it might print a little. I live in a state where OC is legal but frowned upon, so even if it is seen, there's no law broken.

I got a chance to work the gun counter today was going to buy the last 2 boxes of blazer brass in 180gr .40 cal but before i could get to break they were gone. The only ammo our store now has as of 4:00 pm is .22 short and mag,2 boxes of .38,1 box of 9mm,and 3 boxes of 12 gauge slugs which i bought after leaving work.I checked to see if we were out or if it was out in the warehouse,it's out at the stores but the store are only getting small quantities.

I know the the next time i see any coming in i'm going to break as soon as i see it and grabbing some up.

Uh and there is a small piece of good news, blazer brass in .40 cal is still 12.49 a box.
