Alien marines Vs tough guys from predator

The original post said "without futuristic weapons", so regardless of which team was cooler on film I will have to go with the "Elite" Preadtor team. Those guys were supposed to be the best of the best, the Space Marines were just a regular marine platoon assigned a "bug hunt". No pulse rifles, armor transport, tactical nukes, and drop ships. No way the Space Marines are winning. Now Starship Troopers vs. Space Marines WITH weapons would be pretty cool.
Any Masamune (Appleseed/Ghost in the Shell)Shirow fans here?

Thanks for the link. Deunan Knute and Major Kusonoki... :) For those of you who are anime fans, you really owe it to yourself to read the original manga, which are FAR superior. I read some of Gunsmith Cats, liked it but does not compare to the depth of Shirow's work and detail. I'll take a Seburo bullpup rifle anyday.

Wow, we have some serios anime fans here!

I'm a huge anime fan. Hence the name I go under "AKIRA". hehehe

If you guys like Shiro, check out some Otomo and Miyazaki.

Otomo made some really great flicks, "Akira", "Memories", "robot Carnival"

Miyazaki may not have a bunch of guns but he make some great movies. Such as "monster princes","vally of the winds", "la puta", "kiki's delivery service", and "my neigbor totoro". Great flicks, fun for all ages.

Did you see the original? There are different versions of it. The original was great.

Sorry to hear you didn't like it.

What makes Gunsmith Cats appealing to me is the very accurate detailed drawing of the firearms and cars. Like Rally's pre-importable CZ-75:

(the only problem is that occasionally the frame is flipped due the the Japanese right-to-left reading)
And Rally's Shelby:

OK there seems to be some intrest in manga here..
Try looking at...
Grey: Digital target...simple and fast read
Crying Freeman...serious and very sexual but lots of gunplay
As mentioned...Akira...stunning
Kite...teen girl assaisin with explosive handgun
Naussica and the Valley of the Winds...bears mention, very beautiful books

Anime is fun sometimes, but like books and movies rarly compare to the original comics. Here in Hawaii, the real stuff is easy to find, english translations a bit harder. Enjoy!

Hmm...got all of those manga except Kite. Crying Freeman is another good detailed manga. A bit on the adult side but, then again, I'm an adult. Check out Dirty Pair, more on the fun side.

A good one to get that isn't too serious or deep and explores old Japan and their lifestyles is Usagi Yojimbo. A bit in the cutesy side but very good stories.

I always liked the "City Hunter" series myself, the guns were always drawn well and the girls were always sorta curvy-like without getting too graphic.

Good stuff!
