Alert: S$W begins to wobble...

BWAH HA HA HA HA
What part of SOME do they not understand?
Some must mean 90%.

What? They were expecting huge contracts to be handed over to them because they caved?
Screw them!

Watch what happens next... The Executives will get rich and all the employees will get screwed.

------------------
You might laugh in the face of FEAR... but unless your armed, its a nervous, unconvincing, little laugh.

Couple of points, that come to my mind.

Lots of folks talk of a "contract" between Smith and Wesson and HUD (Clinton, Cuomo et al). Was there actually a contract, where among other things there was "offer and acceptance", with things written on paper, though a verbal contract can be binding too, or was this merely an agreement between the parties, which lacked the essentials of a "contract". I for one, do not know, but the point does seem interesting.

Also, the following comes to mind. If S & W were to fold, what then would be the position of The City of Boston, which had jumped on this sue the gunmakers business, as well as the State of Mass., which might perhaps be held responsible for the loss of jobs, something that will NOT be limited to S & W employees, as that entity, the state, failed to defend the continuation of a LEGAL BUSINESS OPERATION, long based in that state.

Seems as if both Boston and Mass., like some others might try, through double-talk and double-dealing, to HAVE THEIR CAKE WHILE EATING IT TOO. Sort of like throwing the baby out, with the bathwater, then crying about how much one missed the child.

Unfortunately, while the polical types deserve to get kicked in their hind ends, but won't, the employees of S&W deserved better. That is usually how "the cookie crumbles", isn't it? Ordinary people get "shat" upon, while the politicans go on to bigger and better things.

The full text version of the agreement says clearly that it is a contract and is legally enforceable as one.

They're a pack of traitors, and although I've loved their revolvers for decades, I will drink a toast when they file for bankruptcy.

S&W is the dog, the consumer is the hand.
Now that's cleared up.

It is my understanding that if any government funds (TAXES) are used to implement a program. Such as the HUD/S&W agreement, then congress must approve of it.

And we all know that Klinton bypassed congress, so his agreement is without constitutional authority.

I think!

David:

Re what I had read of this debacle, I must have missed that detail.

Tuesday, June 13, 2000) -- The moment of truth has arrived.
Clinton's illegitimate grab of power will go on trial as early as
tomorrow in the House of Representatives.

Pro-gun Rep. John Hostettler (R-IN) is taking aim at gun control
policies imposed by President Clinton this past March when his
Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) agreed to back
door gun control with firearms manufacturer Smith & Wesson.

The Clinton & Wesson pact regulates and restricts the sales of ALL
firearms sold by dealers carrying S&W products -- including Glocks,
Berettas, Brownings, etc. Moreover, no gun can be sold by an S&W
dealer until the FBI gives a definitive "yes" or "no." Thus, if the
FBI's computers go down (like they did just a few weeks ago) no S&W
dealer can transfer a firearm until the government's computers go
back online and the FBI gives its verdict.

Per the terms of the agreement, government bureaucrats will sit on
an Oversight Commission, helping to enforce the Clinton & Wesson
accord. Most notably, the commission will include BATF agents -- a
fact that should concern gun owners everywhere.

Rep. Hostettler plans to offer two amendments to the VA-HUD funding
bill this week. One amendment will defund HUD's ability to enforce
the agreement. The other will stop HUD's ability to "organize,
implement, manage, promote, coordinate, or administrate" any gun
control coalition efforts in which they are currently involved.
(HUD has been helping to organize state and local officials in an
anti-gun "Communities for Safer Guns Coalition.")

ACTION: Please contact your Representative and urge him to SUPPORT
the Hostettler amendments to the VA-HUD appropriations bill. (The
bill is scheduled for debate tomorrow, even though it still does not
have a bill number.)

Tell your Congressman it's outrageous for the President to bypass
Congress and impose gun control upon the people of this nation.
Moreover, it's outrageous that your tax dollars are helping organize
anti-gun coalitions around the country. No more! Tell him you
support Hostettler's amendments 100 percent. The GOA Legislative
Action Center is available at http://www.gunowners.org/activism.htm
so you can locate and contact your Representative. The Capitol
switchboard may be called toll-free at 1-888-449-3511, or at
202-225-3121.

The best thing we can do is keep "turning up the heat". Don't buy one single item of S&W's. Not a firmarm, cap, tee shirt, glasses, cleaning items, etc.. Absolutely nothing, zero, zip.

Don't patronize any dealer that sells any S&W products and let them know why you won't patronize their establishment, whether they are storefront or gun show operation.

Write every gun rag that sells them advertising and tell them you will no longer purchase their publication as long as they continue to take S&W advertising. Cancel all subscriptions if they continue.

To paraphrase a saying, "The friends of my enemies are my enemies". It's time to make belivers out of some of these folks!

RKBA!

I think the really sad part of all this, is the fact that we are forced to do this to companies that are The Biggest Gun Manufacturers in this Country...

THINK ABOUT IT ...

TO KNOW YOUR ENEMY-
STUDY HIM, WALK WITH HIM,
DRAW HIM NEAR...LEARN TO BE HIM IN YOUR MIND....NEVER UNDERESTIMATE OR SCOFF AT HIM,
FOR THAT GIVES HIM THE ADVANTAGE...
RESPECT HIM( atleast as an opponent ),
GIVE HIM YOUR UNDIVIDED ATTENTION!!!
ONLY THEN CAN YOU REALLY, TRULY, DEFEAT HIM!

If you were an ANTI-GUN Supporter, ( just put yourself in their shoes for a minute...)
and you wanted to hurt the "Gun Industry",
what would your "BATTLEPLAN" look like...?

1.) Find the biggest Gun Manufacturers.

2.) Blackmail them and put enough pressure on them, long enough, to "crack their armor"-
COMPROMISE them... ( Even a simple weed will eventually crack a concrete sidewalk from the constant, steady, pressure...)

3.)And then, POINT AN ACCUSING FINGER at the "Chink" in their armor. ( making sure to "Bloody The Water" good.)

4.) And WATCH, as the "FEEDING FRENZY" begins...

I bet that Clinton, Reno and the Anti-Gunners are happily watching as we have Viciously turned our backs on our Own, Gun Industry Giants...

While we "Demand" our Second Ammendment Rights, we are KILLING our Arms Industry.

We have "Acted out of Anger", and not thought carefully about the "Big Picture".

Anger is a luxury that we cannot afford...

They went after the Biggest, and now we`re helping finish them off...

Companies with OVER 100 YEARS of American Firearms Heritage, and History...(most)

COLT, RUGER, REMINGTON, and now finally,
( The Anti-Gunners BEST Work Yet...)
SMITH & WESSON.

WILL WE STAND BEHIND OUR ARMS FACTORIES???
( In Sickness, And IN Health, For Better OR Worse, TILL DEATH DO US PART...)

We are ALIENATING OURSELVES from our VERY OWN KIND...
OUR LIFEBLOOD,
OUR VITAL RESOURCES... JUST to PUNISH THEM???
YES, They are FLAWED, BUT SO ARE WE...

RIGHT OR WRONG, If we don`t STAND TOGETHER, RIGHT NOW...
WILL IT BE TOO LATE ? ( United we stand, Divided ...) sound familiar?

WHO IS NEXT ???

After this is said and done, CAN THEY BE REPLACED ???

Or are they just a footnote in History, for future generations of unarmed "Subjects" (citizens )to read about...

All this talk of " THEY MUST DIE ".... and "BOYCOTT THEM"....

I hope that we don`t say later on to ourselves, when it IS too late, "SHAME ON US"

This Is Indeed Very Sad Times...

ISN`T THERE ANY OTHER WAY???

More to the point, it says that the agreement is enforceable as a court order. So, if
anger.gif
Sellout&Wussy
angryfire.gif
violates it, then they don't get a trial per-se, but rather a contempt-of-court hearing.

It some .45,

you are treating this corprate entity as a woman to whom you are married?

I dont like the fact that these manufatures are put between a vise any more than you do. However, we must show our suport for our rights. If we coddle S&W then we are cutting our own arm off! There is no other way for this company to viod this agreement other than to go into "re-orginization". In the mean time we have a plethera of other manufactures to choose from.

Fighting for your rights is supposed to be painful...get used to it!
