was not of Condition Red Alert quality.
I really thought that we were going to be in for it bigtime come Nov 2000 and that if Clinton did not do it that Gore probably would.
I still do not trust either of them
or even Bush for that matter and I believe
that we should all support controls on executive orders as soon as reasonably
possible.
Now ,we have more time to work with
and more people with a hightened awareness
of the problem as well as a historical prospective of the damage done by executive orders in the past.
Because of this I am glad of this thread. I have learned a lot from your reply,for which I thank you.
I was not keeping up with the other
progun boards, as I usually just stay here at home on TFL.
After all, there is only so much time I can spend each day reading gun boards and I was right about missing something.

I was not "crying wolf" , as in lack of contrary information which you just now provided to me and in light of the 3
historical precidences of misuse of executive orders and the two bills pending sponsirship in the house & the senate,
I felt that there was cause for significant ligitimate concern . There is still cause for this concern, but we have a lot more time to react to it now, THANK GOD!

And During and After Nov 2000, I'll keep a carefull eye on not only Clinton & Gore ,
but also G dubbia for abuse of executive orders.

Lets see about getting some safe guards in place, we might need them way sooner that some think, but I sincerely hope not!
I dont think that it is proper for any president (whoever he may be)of whatever party, TO BE ABLE TO USE EXECUTIVE ORDERS
to undermine,infringe,encraoch,schred up and
salimi slice and otherwise trample all over our Constitution.
We owe it to our children to leave to them an America that STILL HAS A CONSTITUTION AND A BILL OF RIGHTS THAT MEANS WHAT IT SAYS and not what the current administration would like for it to say ,instead.
