Alan Gura on Guntalk Podcast Discussing Scalia

I thought the dissent in both Heller and MacDonald were so poorly reasoned yet clearly indicative of genuine hostility to the very concept of an individual right to arms, almost maniacal, I would expect an outright reversal by a liberal court, once they have the single vote they need. They would do it, and then simply say a gross error was now corrected, like Dred Scott being overturned, or Brown vs. Board of Education.

Then let us fight SCOTUS, a lapdog media, and openly implied racist name-calling all at the same time.

Has she signed onto any decisions or dissents that give us clues as to how hew mind works? Has she written any dissents?

She has written three prominent opinions so far - one majority holding that sentencing a 14yr old to life in prison for homicide is cruel and unusual punishment. She has two dissents dealing with campaign financing and standing for a church to sue in which she joined Breyer, et al.

I hope Scalia made some impression on her but I haven't seen anything yet that gives me hope.

As far as Heller goes, I think several Justices want to overturn it outright but applying Breyer's conception of scrutiny to it would be just as bad. Though it seems so far even the lower courts aren't onboard with that.
