Afghan troops have beheaded four Taliban fighters in tit-for-tat executions following the decapitation of a government soldier and an interpreter employed by the US military.


The commander of the 27th division, Namat Allah Tokhi, confirmed the beheadings on Tuesday.

He said the interpreter and the soldier were beheaded after becoming separated from a patrol of Afghan and US-led foreign troops in the Arghandab district of the southern province of Zabul on Monday night.

But government troops later captured and killed four Taliban guerrillas in the same way. "They cut off their heads with a knife, so when our forces arrested four Taliban, we cut off their heads too."

This will happen on a daily basis if the US pulls out of Afghanistan (or Iraq) too soon. The tribalistic mindset of these people is utterly foreign to most of us and almost impossible understand by the average American.

Sometimes I regret that we're too good to trot out and execute 100 of their boys in retaliation for one of ours ... the cost of civilization and conscience I suppose.

How about "donating" to Israel a small (battlefield) intermediate range nukie for each American they behead ... Leaving it up to the Israelies to decide how best to dispose of it ... ... just kidding ...maybe.

I expect to see that when we go after Iran.

One of the most recent overhauls in the Nuclear arsenal was to make them small and battlefield ready. Not the City incinerating types we saved for the Soviets.
