Being italian from new york, i don't have much of a choice...ankle carry is hereditary. (inside left leg, not outside right like on the Sopranos). I don't know why so many new yorkers carry that way, maybe so we don't get pickpocketed (or gunpicketed, or gunpocketed?) when we ride the subway...Also, if some strange beautiful woman drops to her knees, you don't have to worry about her finding your gun when she grabs your hips....see, there are other things to consider besides speed of draw....the only time an ankle gun might be inapproriate is going the shoe store...could put off your salesperson, although they might give you a huge discount out of fear....
