Air Condition Vents : Good Place To Hide A Spare Gun?

If you are going to use a lock box, would it not be possible to seal the box to some extent?

Perhaps......mounting the box to the wall of the vent, rather than the floor-to prevent the box from sitting in a pool of water.

Weather stripping.......or some other pertinent method of sealing from moist air, if such is practical would do wonders for the longevity of the gun if you follow thru with this plan.

Additionally, a firearm constructed primarily of stainless steel or polymers will not be anywhere nearly as vulnerable to rusting.
