What type of shotgun, action if you will, do you use most often for bird hunting? Not which action you own the most or even prefer. But the one that you take into the field the most. A comment as to your selection would be nice.

Vintage 1957 Belgium Browning Superposed Grade 1 12ga 28" modified over improved cylinder.

Over Unders - almost all the time ....Browning Citori XS Skeet models with 30" barrels in 12 and 20ga or 28ga -- depending on what I'm hunting.

Occasionally, I will shoot a semi-auto / a Benelli Super Sport with a 30" barrel.

Like, I'm going to spend all year practicing with an U/O and then switch to a bolt action, or pump or SxS for the field, I don't think so.

Now Zippy - you telling me after you won the CA lottery, you wouldn't want one of these for those wily chukar? It's a nice 20 bore at 6# even

1-oz, that sure is pretty; but, I've already got an agreement with one of my shooting buddies -- if either of us hits the lottery, we both go Italy for factory fit P-guns. Perhaps, if I hit the lottery a second time, I'll go to London. ;)

If I win the lottery... In no particular order :D

Thats exactly what I do.. Before the hunt I do a tune up shoot with whichever gun or guns I'm planning on hunting with... I don't have much of a problem with switching from one type of shotgun to the other..

Most of my shooting is partridge and woodcock hunting. My first pick is a Browning BSS in 20ga unless my son beats me to it, then i use my Citori Superlite also in 20ga.

I started with a lever action then moved to pumps and stuck with them. I like doubles and have a few but I'm not all that hot with them.

Hawg,

IIRC, you're the only one to 'fess up to having hunted with a lever shotgun. Can you tell us more?

I've bird hunted about 50yrs...had to take the last couple off...damn. I will hunt again. Started with a slingshot, bb gun, single shot...pump gun (luv those 870s) and ended with a Browining A500...needed to be able to shoot steel shot. After you learn not to blow your loads too soon...they are the ticket. Tried SxS once, OU once, rifle/shotgun combos. I'll stick to semis.

I use a Striker Fully Auto for all my bird hunting :D

But seriously pump all the way. I cant get used to the feel of anything else. A pump just feels so natural to me
