Accurate handguns that shouldn't be

I was surprised how well the ex's G-19 shot. After getting the sights/hold figured out, I could hit the 18" plate @ 300 yards fairly consistantly. 3-4 out of 10 wasn't out of the question.

Something new...something old....nothing borrowed...

I hve several that shoot well and feel good in the hand...none are "Top Tier" manufacturers...

Bersa 312A (single stack....1988-ish)
This was forgotten in the safe for a while. Took it out last year and found out how soft shooting and accurate this little blast-from-the-past is.

Charter Arms Undercoverette in .32 SWL (1969-ish)
My Great-Grandads revolver....For a little snubnose it shoots well. Probably because of it's light weight and small cartridge.

I got lot's of brand name stuff that seems to have self guiding bullets..but you expect that when you pay $800+ for a weapon...it's those little $200 ones that sometimes amaze me....

I've got a P250 fullsize in .45 ACP that's a horrible example of a well-made, well-designed weapon that can't hit a barn door from INSIDE the barn.

Cheers

Accurate

The Keltec PF-9 was a great surprise in just how accurate they are. And how easy they are to shoot accurately. Surprisingly the much larger PF-11 is neither and recoil is much worse. Common sense would dictate the reverse of the situation. Just my experience owning both pistols.

CZ-75

Out of the big the trigger in DA is very meh, the single action is O.K. but not as nice as a SIG with the SRT. That being said I am dead nuts accurate with my CZ-75. The gun soaks up the recoil, round after round right ontop of the other. The gun as usual is far more accurate than I am.

Can't wait to see what happens if I ever get a trigger job for it.

Many of these answers surprise me. Quality firearms that I would expect to be accurate are listed as "Accurate handguns that shouldn't be".

This little popper is amazingly easy to shoot accurately,,,
It has a natural point that will surprise most shooters.

I can hit 6" paper plates at 25 yards with amazing consistency,,,
I bought it thinking it would be a cute range toy,,,
It's a gun I now carry with some confidence.

My biggest surprise for accuracy was a 1945 Walther P.38. It was long past the precision work Walther was capable of, and looked like hastily made junk, but it shot one hole groups at 10 yards and about one inch at 25 (off a rest - I am not that good a shot). Trigger pull was great, too, and it had not been worked on. P.38's were/are good guns, but Germany still lost the war.

One of those spur of the moment deals,I bought a Llama Mini Max 45 auto for $265.00 years ago when they were still in business.
I have never had a FTF or FTE in all the years I've owned it,and it's quite accurate also.
When I took the test for my CHL,I used it, and I was the only one in the class that got a perfect score.

I'm with Cheapshooter. Some of these answers are unexpected. The PPK for example. Sure they shoot great, they're Walthers for crying out loud. The security six issue I understand, because I've had several, and I still have one, because it shoots. Some of the low end stuff shoots great, but they break too soon. I had a $79 Haskell, for those who know, is the predecessor of the Hi Point line. SIL still shoots straight with it.

Stoeger Luger 22lr. Paid $50.00 for it. Shot better than my Ruger MK II target. Almost as good as my S&W 41.

TZ75 by cost $235 from Wal mart. Purchased in 1982 I used it to clean the targets during my SO qualification in 1990. The X ring was a ragged hole. My score was 500 by 50X.

Pistolet Makarov. Any Makarov. Russian, Bulgarian, East German, or Chinese, they are all accurate as heck. Some are finished better than others, but they are all shooters.

I have a Colt Officer's Model compact 45 ACP that shoots as well as my Colt Gold Cup. And a Taurus PT145 that does almost as well (about 20% larger groups).

Uncanny.

Whilst I wasn't expecting it to be inaccurate per se, I was surprised that the G26 seemed easier to shoot than my own longer, G19 with a bigger grip to boot...

I am also constantly amazed by how brilliantly accruate any and allof my guns are...

...when someone else is shooting them....

They are pocket pistols- not supposed to be accurate beyond accross-the-room ranges. Thus the surprise when they are accurate at 35-50 yards. Not a brand thing, but a type of gun thing.

My BUL M5, carry, 3" barrel, .45 ACP, double stack mag 10 rounds +1.

Everything I thought it was going to be but accurate.

1" MOA @ 25 yards!
