We have a new store, Academy Sports and Outdoor, opening in my
area in a couple of months. Does anyone know if they sell handguns?

Bought my 24/7 Pro Ds there for $349

Academy is very well established here in San Antonio. They have a decent variety of handguns and at good prices. But they don't do returns on handguns. Any problems have to go through the manufacturer.

I like going there, especially for ammo, as they tend to have the SD ammo I like.

They sell handguns, rifles, and shotguns. Usually have a pretty good selection of ammo too.

The Academy Sports in my town sells guns. I'm comparing they're prices to some other locally owned gun dealers in my area that can usually beat Academy's prices. Their prices are about what I've seen at a Bass Pro Shops.

Academy is well established in Texas and in my area, have some very attractive prices. A couple of years ago I purcahsed all my ammo at Academy as they had the best price. Although I frequent several stores, there is one guy behind the counter at my local store that is knowledgeable and when slow, will spend time showing firearms and talking.

Based on a newspaper employment ad today, they are seeking hires for
a store to open in Columbia, SC.

Academy has a good price and a good selection on everything that could be used for the outdoors & sports! I used to live in DFW metroplex & Academy was one of my favorite stores. I did a lot of bass fishing at the time & they had it all covered.
They must be making a business move. I now live in North East Texas & we are getting a new Academy also!!:D I wasn't into shooting back then so I didn't pay much attention to gun & ammo prices. They have a good website with a preview of both selection & price. They state that the website has only a few of the firarms available at the store.
It will be worth the visit when they open!!

Academy opened in Spartanburg a few years ago and in Greenville last summer. They have a good number of guns on hand and usually have more ammo and lower prices than anyone else in the area.

They sell handguns. Most stores have a decent selection of the more popular brands, and models. They do not do returns of handguns, they will however ship your gun to the factory if you need to have that done free of charge. As long as you keep all of the paperwork they give you, and the recipt.

They have better prices than the local Bass Pro and have good prices for a store in the San Antonio area. Nothing fancy - decent ammo prices.

You can beat the gun prices at the gun shows, though.

To nefprotector and FullCry, I am on Lake Martin in the Alexander City area. If you like Academy and have never done so, check out Simmons in Bessemer when you have the opportunity.

I got a better price on my Beretta 92FS Inox there than Academy. Simmons' gun department is enormous. Although, I am not saying you will save enough to justify the cost of fuel. :)
