A Tennessee TRTer with cojones

When cops try to violate your civil rights, stand up to them. I don't understand the problem! These are the same rights that people have died to give you and you're afraid of going to jail for a night? You'd be beating the lawyers off of you if you were arrested for this.
I spend most of my time in northeastern Tenn/southwestern Va and I can vouch for the fact that most (not all) of the cops down there are jack-booted bubbas. I am not a cop hater or anything like that. I've just never seen a bigger bunch of pricks.
They target non-natives, minorities and students and have no regard for personal freedom. You are judged by the standards of the good ole boy network and that's that.
Most people have no idea what their rights are, cops included. There's nothing they hate more than someone 1. more educated than they are or 2. someone telling them they're wrong.
Either way, if you don't stand up for your rights, what good are you? Respect police, but don't cower to them, they're subject to the same laws that we are.

"Not being a lawyer, I don't understand how the history of CCW laws from other states
might affect your suit in CA. "

Here's a hint. Two years ago an Arizona appeals court (City of Tucson v Rineer) allowed Tucson to ban guns in parks despite our clear Constitutional wording against that act and state law which was designed to preempt local gun bans.

As part of his ruling the judge cited Quillici(sp) vs Morton Grove, Illinios... you remember Morton Grove, don't you? The town that banned hand guns (while Kennesaw, Georgia required heads of households to have a gun).

Arizona's Supreme Court refused to hear Rineer's appeal which was written by David T. Hardy, former attorney for the Interior Department and Solicitor General of the United States and currently representing the Branch Davidians in their Waco suit. Kind of makes ya sit up and listen, doesn't it?

BTW, Rineer arranged for his arrest in order to have standing to challenge the city ordinance.
