A question for all that carry...

About 50-50. I live in AZ, so it is up to me, not the government. :) It also depends what I choose to carry. The G26 is always carried concealed, The Ruger P95 is always carried open. (Rugers are way to big to carry concealed) The G19 is carried either way, depending upon my mood.

Usually concealed. Open here in AZ is ok but sometimes makes the blue haired flatlanders a little nervous.

Nikita Khrushchev predicted confidently in a speech in Bucharest, Rumania on June 19, 1962 that: " The United States will eventually fly the Communist Red Flag...the American people will hoist it themselves."

Concealed. Mainly for the reasons mentioned: element of surprise/avoiding being targeted in a situtaion/all-around low freakout factor.

Open carry? I bet that makes for a polite society.

When offduty we are not allowed to carry in the open (Cali of course). If someone was to see my gun (when offduty) it would cause some displinary problems at work. I would probably get a couple of unpaid days off and then some time sitting at a desk carrying nothing more dangerous than a pocket knife. California is not very gun friendly, as you all know.

I love this effect! I've had a LEO or two slowly pull by on occasion and can't help but wonder if some called to report a man with a gun.

When people ask if I'm an off-duty LEO, I grin and say, "You're not from around here are you?"

Open carry is a great conversation starter.

Always concealed. The soccer mom's tend to get a bit jumpy when they see a gun! ... Oh, what a horrible thing to carry! ... But there have been 2 strange occurances while we have had our kids at the park ... guess who they come flock around for protection. Lil' ol' me and my 9mm. :D

I'm almost always concealed, even when I'm on my parents' farm. We have the occasional neighbor drop by for a visit, or the unlucky fellow who gets stuck on a muddy trail. I'm just unwilling to show my hole card.

Concealed, except when on private land and busy bodies can't see what I'm doing.
