Even if S&W declares bankruptcy, it doesn't mean they go out of business. How many times did Continental Airlines go bankrupt, 3? S&W was up for sale before all this crap hit the fan. So let them go bankrupt. Maybe their British parent will get next to nothing for them and sell them. Maybe whoever buys them can see the big screw-up management made, and straighten the company out. I think the S&W brand name has way too much value for even the British idiots to just shut the company down.

forgive me for dredging this thing up one more time but after reading - and since I am a newby here - I thought I should clarify one thing.

There are still a lot of S&W guns on the dealers shelves, that were bought and payed for by those dealers before the deal was made public. I would hate to see ANY of these retailers or the middle men have to eat their investment. Immediately after the deal became public, I went down to my favorite gun store and bought the Mod60 I have wanted for a long time. Then I went around to all the dealers I have ever dealt with and a few I haven't (one of them a national chain) and told them the same thing I told the dealer who sold me the gun. "If you decide to be a S&W authorized dealer per the agreement, I will never buy anything here again". I got very satisfying responses from all of them, and I will hold them to it.

Just so y'all know where I stand...
