A homemade Glock

Most of the photos are from news reports from the internet, however some of the them do not say how they are manufacted other then being seized or found in the hands of criminals. I am not suprised if some are modified from airsoft/replica guns or involved real gun parts (especially that AR stock), it seems too good to be built from stratch.

Aye. There are people (even in the U.S.), that are building Glocks on Air-Soft frames. They buy the Air-Soft Glock, a slide, barrel, and magazine; and modify the fire control group as needed. It's a cheap build.
There used to be some examples over at http://www.homegunsmith.com ...but those idiots put a paid registration scheme in place, so they're no longer publicly viewable. (Unless Google has the pages cached.)

Gbro,

Very brief translation on their statements:

Eldest guy aged 39: I like playing with guns, I wanted to purchase a real firearm because I was in the army before and I like to play with guns.

Ye Huan aged 28: In the past I've played with this gun(Mp654K). Later I figured out it could be modified to fire real ammunition.

Youngest guy under 21: In June or July, I purchased a gun from the internet, however it could not be fired, later I met Ye Huan from the net, he helped fix my gun and mailed it back to me.

Ye Huan: From 2009, I started to play with models. I bought a small machinery, later I experimented how to modify the MP65-4. After many failed attempts, 5 months later I've succeded. When I first master the skill, all I wanted was is to show off.

Reporter: How much profit do earn modifiying a gun?

Ye Huan: About 3500 to 4000 yuan

How much cost?

Ye Huan: 300 to 400 yuan. I can't charge them too low, it involves risk, like what they say higher the risk higher the return.

Ye to police: When I modify the MP654K, I didn't focus on accuracy, I just wanted my clients to have a feel of shooting a real gun.

I created it in my basement because the chemicals create a strong smell. Now I regret for what I've done, it's not worth it. I'll never touch anything like it again, it destroyed my family, friends and my life.

Ye to Judge I have a girlfriend, I've planned to get married in 2011, not including housing, I need to spend a few hundred thousand yuan. I didn't want her to have such a shabby wedding.

Jude: You wanted earn to get married?

Ye: I've only earned one or two hundred yuan.

Judge: Have you ever realised what your girlfriend would think if you use such a method to earn money? What kind of man would she think you are?

Ye: sighs

Reporter: Ye could not answer when being asked about his girlfriend. Family members seeing their sons in handcuffs were devestated, the judge did not give out sentence, the case is proceeded.

Later reports Ye Huan(the guy that modify guns) gets 10 years and the others were sentected 1 to 2 years for posessing firearms.

This is his youtube channel showing off his gun before being arrested.

Hsingyu,
Thank you very much for the translation.
Again I am very sympathetic to those young men!
I will Pray for their well being.

Greg

We seized a home made Stein gun in 9mm a while back. Guy made it with hand tools and files while watching TV.

hsingyu... I applaud your candidness but are you not worried that your government will track your internet posts?

I don't see anything illegal either but we in the USA are always told how austere Chinese governmental control control is. It's often difficult to tell the truth from exageration.

Seems to be a pretty cool project. Though I will say it would be nice if we could get some of these airguns imported to the US because I havent seen any around here. Would be a nice project to try. Again, it would be legal in the US, though I understand it is not legal in other countries.

Have an enjoyable day...

Huh?
Home made (or converted) fireams are legal in the US?

As I said, it would probably be legal to do here in the US (United States). It is legal to build your own firearms from scratch in the US with the exception of a machinegun.

Since the OP was from another nation with different laws, it may not be legal there.

The regulations can be found at the link below, page 177, (A6):

http://www.atf.gov/publications/download/p/atf-p-5300-4.pdf

(A6) Does the GCA prohibit anyone
from making a handgun, shotgun
or rifle?
With certain exceptions a firearm
may be made by a nonlicensee provided
it is not for sale and the maker
is not prohibited from possessing
firearms. However, a person is prohibited
from assembling a nonsporting
semi-automatic rifle or nonsporting
shotgun from imported parts. In addition,
the making of an NFA firearm
requires a tax payment and approval
by ATF. An application to make a
machinegun will not be approved
unless documentation is submitted
showing that the firearm is being
made for a Federal or State agency.

There are several groups in/around the US that enjoy building firearms from scratch, or from commonly available parts and do so legally. one such website would be cncguns.com

I gotta stand with Whirlwind06; the simplest made weapon I ever fired was the .45 ACP Grease Gun while in the Texas Army National Guard.
