A good article on 9 Things Never Do While Carrying Concealed

6.Never Use the gun to intimidate. I was taught if I pull I kill.

I understand what you meant, even if it doesn't play well for the literals chastising. Don't pull if you are bluffing.

Peggysue,

I will add one more "don't."

A few years ago, I had a S&W pocket pistol in 380. It is a bit larger than the newer Kel Tecs and other brands. I carried it in a pocket holster in my back right rear pocket, usually while wearing jeans. Because the pistol is larger than most, the end of the handle would, at times and depending on the jeans I was wearing, protrude above the top of my pocket just a tiny bit. Most pockets completely covered the pistol.

One day, while checking out in a store, with my wife standing behind me, the end of the handle protruding a little and other people close by, she decided to place her index finger on the protruding handle saying, "what's this." She's good about asking questions when she already knows the answer, which was the case this time. I politely told her she should not point out where my concealed carry is.

Just so we're clear, the law does NOT give you the right to KILL anyone. It does give you the right to use deadly force to STOP an attack which a reasonable person would believe could lead to grievous bodily harm and/or death. Once the attack is stopped, stop shooting unless you want to go to prison.

You want to make sure that you are in immediate danger; anything else is brandishing. Make sure you don't have a way to get out of the situation.
