A Glock 19, with a hammer...

:) yeh I know this is vague but let's assume that someone told you they liked everything about the Glock 19 (size, weight, capacity, reliability) but wanted the same thing with a hammer. Closest thing available with reasonable aftermarket support such as holsters.

I would definitely say the CZ P07. That is actually what I had phrased the pistol as when I was looking to buy one myself.

The CZ P07 is your gun. Nearly identical in size, but with a hammer.

I also like the Sig 228/229, slightly taller overall ftom the tall slide, but conceals the same for me and I get along better with the Sig trigger vs the CZ

Cajun Gun Works is THE answer for trigger work for the CZ P-07.

You can purchase the kit (Pro Grade) for $225. The instructions are CZ forums.us or you can purchase the pistol directly from CGW or send it to them.

It will be a much nicer pistol than the Sig at that point.

HK P2000 or Beretta PX4 Compact. SIG SP2022 would be close with flat floor plate for the magazine. P30SK may be a possibility when HK comes out with 13 round magazines for it which is supposed to be any day now.

Beretta PX4 Compact might be worth a look, too. Polymer frame, very easy shooter. The safety sticks out on both sides, but a kit to reduce the size and convert it to a de-cocker is available. [SigArms beat me to it.]

You can put both the short reach and short reset kits in the Sig for $100 less than that and the S/A trigger is as good or better than the CGW's trigger and you don't have to deal with the CZ's long reach to the D/A trigger. And for the record I have had both.

Close indeed!

The CZ p-07 is your baby....especially the newer ones with the Omega trigger profile.

I have the 09 and it's just a awesome pistol.

Another vote for CZ P07. I got one specifically because it really was the most similar to the Glock 19 in dimensions, and the controls are all easily located and used. The PX4 decocker is hard for me to reach and it requires too many mods to be what I want (decocking only, with lower profile controls). The P30SK was too chunky for my hands and really is more akin to the G26.

The P07 is pretty sweet.

Why would anyone want a handgun with an exposed hammer. Shooters figured out over 100 years ago that rifles and shotguns without exposed hammers were more rugged and reliable than versions with exposed hammers. Yet some people can't seem to wrap their minds around the idea that hammers on handguns are a negative just as they are on long guns.
