A gift for a Veteran family member

Heads up on this one!

Warning, I stumbled across shortened version of the O.P’s post on another forum last night; sorry to say I don’t remember which one. This time the O.P was going to purchase a Beretta handgun and had already made arrangements with the local American Legion post to host a presentation ceremony, as one member had suggested to her. The main difference was this time the O.P. was now REQUESTING DONATIONS to help defray the cost.
I don’t wish to sound cynical but this sounds as if may be a little bit of a con.
 
Not a con. I own that other forum. I have made my decision to purchase a commerative Beretta as the handgun. The forum is mine, and we bless people all the time. I am personally paying for the handgun, the forum will help provide for the rifle and will write letter of encouragement to the veteran. If we only raise $20 from the forum, well then that's all we raise and I will meet the rest. It will still come from the forum. All of this will be given to the veteran at a later date once a VFW is contacted. Your facts are wrong, and I am quite sad that you would try to paint me as something I am not without contacting me first. Notice I asked for nothing from anyone here except input, as this is not my forum.
