Dennis - I read this thread a bit late, but generally agree with your post.
Unfortunately though no one in this country has the right to "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." We do however have the right to "life, liberty, and property". Of course property in this case means guns, which means happiness.
On a really bad day? I have enough to go around for my friends and family, and I can emphasize with Jeff Thomas and his really liberal sister. Of course they will have to learn the manual of arms for whatever it is I hand them. And they will have to appreciate the deer in my freezer, which my wife just can't seam to accept.
And they had better not take the last homebrew in the fridge! If people can follow these simple rules we will get along just fine.
