A Collection would be Incomplete without. . . (blank)?

I've been lucky enough to put together a decent collection of pistols within the last few years. They are all "higher end" production guns. I have some spending money and am looking to add to it.

My question is this. . . which production pistol is a "must have" for any collection (brand, model & caliber)?

I'm not going to say what I have as I'm more interested in your opinions without regard for what I currently have (if that makes sense).

Hmmm...

A 1911 (ideally two; one mil-spec and one "modernized").
A Glock of some sort.
A P-series SIG.
A Beretta 92/96 or clone.
Something from HK, even if it's just a VP-70 or HK4.
A Ruger Mk. II of some flavor or another, Browning Buckmark or *&* 41 .
A High Power or clone.

They are all "higher end" production guns.

Just some starter ideas for core guns in a "modern" collection.

If I was going to focus on older guns or collectibles, it'd read differently...

Ditto most everything Tamara said, with the following qualifications. I haven't gotten an HK yet, so I can't speak from first-hand knowledge, but I want one. I had a Glock, and sold it. The only gun I have ever sold, and I don't regret it. Just didn't like it.

For historic interest, I'd add a Luger and a Walther P38.

This is the Semiauto Forum, but no collection is complete without some wheel guns. At a minimum, I would prescribe one each: Ruger, Colt, Taurus, and S&W (used, of course), in various calibers according to taste.

For personal preference, I'd recommend that the Ruger be a Single Six or other single action, and that the Colt be a .357 Mag. My S&W is a .38 Special snub-nose, a classic.

A P7 series pistol
Sig p210 or 220SS
USP or Mark23
Raging Bull or SW in 44 magnum
2 1911's for good measure,
1 full size and a compact (Those 2-toned STI 1911's really are very handsome and very modern)
maybe a CZ75 compact

These are what i would like in my collection :D

New_comer

PS: Wow! I never thought that i'd like to own so many guns... :D

A 1911 or BHP with R-rated scrimshawed grips. Polished blue is the preferred finish o such a gun, though though a highgloss crome will will do.

Luger 9mm
Colt SAA .45
Colt 1911 or 1911a1 .45
Browning Hi-Power

As far as the new stuff goes,

A Ruger Mk2

If you get an hk it should be an unusual one, like the p7.

we're forgetting the little guys....

You need some mice guns .... Colt mustang in 380 would be my choice. If I could get more than one thena kahr in 9mm, keltec p32, seecamp, beretta 950.

Maybe a Kahr cuz the small don't have to be weak.

And don't forget a sprinkling of surplus guns. Got to have a mak, a CZ50/70, a CZ52 etc

Sometimes you have ammo on the verge of going bad and you have to shoot it or lose it (that's my story and I'm stickin to it). Don't forget to pick up a Glock 18 to make this less of a chore.

If you like the above, you can send me .02 via paypal.....:D :D :D

Tamara - you were missing some revolvers in your list!

I'll pick Tamara's list plus a S&W Model 629, a Colt Python, and a Colt SAA in .45 Long Colt.

Well...

...he did post this in the semiauto forum, so I wasn't sure if he was curious about wheelguns, too. :)

It's a little difficult to obtain, but...

..if you can find a new one at a price that was not listed by an insane person, a Seecamp added a lot of "class" to my collection.
