a 9mm for $160?

Bryco Arms Jennings 9 Self destrucked anywhere between 1 and 500 rounds. Go with the makarov or a good used ruger P Series.

Two words..

Firing Pins

This is one of the biggest weaknesses of all these type of weapons

A good friend of mine bought two chrome 9mm Lorcins at a pawn shop a few years ago (without consulting with me) for a little over $100 each.
Not knowing anything about handguns, he thought he got an excellent deal.

When he showed me his new acquisitions, I was at a loss of exactly what to say. You never tell a friend that his gun/dog/wife is garbage/a mongrel/loose, so I simply told him good luck (and asked if he kept his receipt).

Within the year and a week of eachother, the firing pins on both Lorcins broke.

He claimed he only fired three or four boxes through both, then proceeded to warn me to avoid Lorcins.

Hi-Point stays in business because they build handguns and carbines that go bang every time you pull the trigger. It doesn't matter if its the first round or 10,417th!

Inexpensive 9mm

I second a Makarov as well

But if you're wanting a inexpensive 9mm Parabellum, I've seen Tokarevs in 9mm Parabellum. I can't speak for the 9mm versions, as I've not shot one. I can speak for the original 7.62x25s I've not heard anything bad about either one. I've looked on various boards on those who converted their 7.62s to 9mm, most have had no difficulties feeding either round.

A Tokarev can be had for about $150-$200 in either caliber according to Auction Arms and Gunbroker

Also something to consider is the FEG PA-63 in .380 or 9x18mm
