A 22 for her? and of course for me too:)

My new favorite .22 pistol is the S&W 22A. Great sights, easy to clean, and plenty accurate even with cheap bulk .22 ammo. I find the grip angle and the Flash Gordon looks of the Beretta a no-go. The Ruger is a fine pistol, and the grip angle on the 22/45 model is nice, but cleaning it is not fun, even after doing it many, many times.

Any of these will be very accurate and last practically forever. All are reasonably priced.

The ruger mark is a good all around and a high quality gun. Lately S&W has put out some not so good 22 autos. Or a good S&W revolver is another good choice.

Good .22 revolvers are hard to find,,,

It's kinda funny how brand new .22 semi's can be had for less than $300,,,
A revolver of equal quality is gonna be quite a lot more.

Brand new I paid $269 for my NEOS and $239 for my 22/45,,,
After a year of looking I finally found a S&W Model 18 for $375.

The S&W Model 34 cost me quite a bit more at $475,,,
I shudder to think what a good Model 17 is gonna cost me.

And while I love my NEOS 'cause it's way fun to play with,,,
I do feel a bit like Buck Rogers when I strap it on,,,
My 22/45 just makes me burn up ammo. :D

Strickly .22 pistols, I'd go Ruger Mk II or a Browning Buckmark (in that order). I easily have 10K rounds out of my USED MkII and have yet to replace anything but 2 faulty mags.

That said, I favor .22 Conversion Units. A solid service auto w/ a .22 top allows the ability to gradually step up a 9, .40, or .45. Same controls, trigger, and, often, sights translates into greater accuracy/confidence when the "step-up" occurs. It only makes sense...

Regards,
Lucky

Would love to be able to get a conversion but one of the 9's is a springfield XD and the other is an STI GP6-C.

I'm not aware of anyone making a conversion for either of these.
