9mm vs. .357 Sig

This is one of those "no right answer" questions. Just opinions from alot of knowledgeable people. All in all the 357 Sig is a great round. Is it worth the expense of ammo, practice, barrels etc...Its up to you. Ive thought about adding a Sig barrel to my K40 and still go back and forth.....Ill just stay on my fence for now.

The Sig round is basically a hot 9mm. It does have similar energies produced when compared to a 357 mag round in shorter tubes...anything over 4" barrels and the Mag takes
over.
As far as pressures. If its loaded to 40 pressures, I can see how
many owners are asking for trouble. Reducing the "outlet" or bullet end of the case, where pressure is released thus increases the pressure accordingling. Just adding to the pressure of the already high 40 round, IMO can be a bad thing.
Sig KB's arent all over the net..so Id have to wonder about what pressure the round actually creates.
As far as ballistics. The 135gr 40 S&W is right up there as far as energies created along with shorter 357 mag energies also.
Accuracy is very good with most factory loadings of the Sig.

Id be curious to see if you do, how it turns out. For now, Ill just stay on my fence :D
Shoot well

Stick with the 9mm. Less recoil and more accuracy. Go with the 9mm in +P .115 grain. It will do the job. In hardball go with NATO specs.

The trouble with guns in .357SIG and 40 S&W are that these are peices designed for the 9mm. There are reliability problems with these guns.

The .40 S&W is typical of American law enforcement in which the attitude of a bigger "tool" will perform better than perhaps the perfect thinking man's self defence semi-auto, the 9mm that is.

I hit what I aim at, that is the the most important thing. My G17 and G19 go boom without fail.
