9mm de-capping

Obviously, I can't answer for the OP, but ...

I only load for handgun (so far), and I always use a universal decapping die. The reason is convenience. I prefer to decap and prime off the (primary) press. I have a universal decapping die in my old single stage press. That way, all I have to do to get ready of a caliber change is swap out the shell holder. Quick and easy.

I load on a turret press. By the time I get that far, the cases are already primed, so I've removed the decapping pin from the sizing dies.
