911 Site Usurped by Terrorist Sympathizers

I am not one to get wrapped up in Internet Conspiracy Theories. I don't usually get more than irritated at policital debates. But this crosses the line  . It seems that certain liberals want to usurp the WTC memorial and overshadow it with a "man's inhumanity to man" display, including the treatment of those poor terrorists at Guantanamo Bay  . Please read this article from the editorial section of the Wall Street Journal, AND WRITE THOSE LETTERS!!!.

I feel like puking right now!!! That story makes me want to vomit, eat it, and vomit again...truly sickening. :barf: :barf: :barf:

Good God, that is fackin' disGUSTing. They'll stop at nothing. No place is too sacred to continue their brainwashing techniques.

I swear, if we have to choose our battles, this'd be one to go ahead and choose.

Sick, sick, sick.

Well here is the deal

are we a nation of laws for all or a nation where a few make the laws as they go?

I dont have much sympathy for the people being held in Guantonamo Bay. But they do deserve to be treated fairly under the law. We kicked Saddam out for throwing people in prison without trials and sham trials....

Now we throw people in detention centers and move em around so they dont have the benefits of a fair trial.

So do we talk the talk and do the walk

or do we just talk the talk? and do what other tyrants in other countries do?

When I say the Pledge of Alliegance doesnt it say freedom and justice for all?

So you think that the WTC site, where these bastards killed 3000 innocent civilians, is the place to show them ANY consideration??? Give me a freaking break!! I don't agree with some of the publicized abuses in prison. Nosirree! I'm thinking buried face down in a shallow grave with a pig's carcass.

Hey I did my part and e-mailed the mayor's office and told him it would be a cold day in hell before I spent any money in NYC.

I even have my nice shiny GWOT Expeditionary and Service medals and a 16 month trip away from home.

But the Bush Administration did create this monster called Abu Gharib...

either we have justice for all or justice for the few.....

Justice for all AMERICANS, Yes. These are not Americans. They're not even people. They're not even animals. They're much lower than that. Oh I think they should get justice all right, just a different kind of justice, like a rope, or a headsman's axe, or a bullet.

I dont recall the part in the pledge of Alliegence where it says justice for just American Citizens? or maybe they changed the meaning of all recently? or perhaps it was justice by a lynch mob?

The premise of the Decleration of Independence is that all men are created equal with certain inalienable rights.

my point being that if we give politicians the right to decide who gets justice then pretty soon more groups get added to the list till eventually nobody gets justice.

justice wears a blindfold and holds the scales for a reason.

Also we send out a mixed message to the hearts and minds of those we are trying to win over........We say we want you to have freedom and justice by your peers, while we hold people without trial like other tyrants do....

I hate the Gitmo discussion. This is how I understand it according to LAoC(Law of Armed Combat) They are not claimed by Afghanistan(the internationaly recognized government that they were fighting against) which makes them rebels; as such they have no rights other than basic human consideration. Furthermore they wore no uniforms; un-uniformed combatants are known as spies, and last time I checked spies on the battlefield were given a bullet in the head. Now wouldn't that be easier? The only way to get through to these people is to sink to the lowest common denominator and cut a few levels below. There is a semi-famous quote, "Innocents sleep soundly at night because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf". Violence is a part of life over there, they have a different outlook on things than we do, Europeans tend to value life more than other cultures, and you realy need to consider that. I am not saying that they are animals or sub-human but if mickey moore wants to talk about a culture of death he needs to take a trip to the west bank.

But I feel a tad uncomfotable when a sitting administration asks the DOJ to write an opinion on torturing prisoners who in thier opinion are not covered under the Genava Convention.

So does this mean that whe another combatant group or country captures one of our soldiers that they should excercise their opinion that our guys arent covered by the Geneva Convention and torture them?

Some are going to torture and kill our guys no matter what. We hold ourselves out to be the good guys.

either we do the right thing or we do the wrong thing. If we do the wrong thing then our claims when our guys get captured will fall on deaf ears.
I wonder how many insugents volunteered after they were whipped up into a frenzy by the mullahs over Abu Gharib. How many Iraqis slipped back over to the other side and how many of our Soldiers died from them?

Being the good guy doesnt come without a price.....

The Great Ground Zero Heist

...but I wasn't at Ground Zero...

Devil's advocate mode:

What's gonna happen if there's a revolution or combat of some sort on US turf? I don't own a uniform...

You win....
Otherwise, you go down swinging. Surrender isn't going to be an option..

I feel a tad uncomfortable when osama is still out there. Say we captured a known associate of his that had time-sensitive information about his whereabouts. Should we not take every measure to get that info and get osama? I admit that international law leaves many gray areas, but that is why we have judges (and the DOJ) to interpret those laws. As for an uprising in our country; I think the government would have to mess up a lot worse than it does on a daily basis to get most Americans that mad. Let's face it America has for the most part gone soft; regardless of political alignment most Americans scoff at the extremists on either side of middle.

So if the our enemy feels it needs to get information it should torture our captured troops if we torture thier folks to get information....

The enemy's going to do it anyway. And I'd imagine they find worse things to do than get our guys naked and embarrass them. I'll never understand why so many turn a blind eye to an american in Iraq killed and mutilated, and feel such compassion for a terrorist in Guantanamo Bay blindfolded with his hands tied behind his back.

OK , I've thought about it for a while and I think I have come up with a good conclusion . Since the choice seems to be between having my head cut off and some PFC pointing at my weinie and laughing while (HORRORS) smoking a cigarette I'll take the pointing PFC .

Back to the original topic...

Everything has its place. This planned display belongs somewhere, but not at the WTC site. That should be a memorial to the fallen, nothing more. The planned display should be placed somewhere else, and then tourists can vote with their feet, instead of being force-fed anti-American propaganda at a site where natural human emotions and curiousity will take them.
