7.62 x 39 data

I agree with getting the proper powder, so far 4198 has given decent results and the good thing about 4198 is apparently not many folks load with it, it was readily available all during the panic buying of the last few years.
Just when I thought this thread had run its' course more members respond, I'll keep checking back!

I've never tried 4198 (either flavor) in the x39, but it is right there in the correct burn rate range, so I'd be surprised if it didn't work well and it sounds as if you're having success with it. The x39 is an easy cartridge to load, it seems to like most anything that is suited to it.

This happens. I usually utilize 3 manuals and go with 2 of 3 if there's a big discrepancy.

My suggestion: Start with the lowest and work up while checking velocities at each step. Stop when your velocities reach the listed max while not exceeding the highest load data.
 
Good procedure Mobuck, also, in case you missed it above, go to the Hodgdon site and make selections based on the cartridge you're reloading at the time, it's a great site!
