A thread starting with that picture of the cool high-end air-rifle would be interesting. This is not that thread. Here, let's stick with, oh, say, one of these:

Over the years, I've shot a lot of painful rifles, and a few painful pistols. Most, I still want to shoot. (Strangely, there's something about the shape of a standard SMLE with its brass butt that hurts my shoulder when wearing a T-shirt, but my .300 Win Mag does not...?)

I've got to say: I *want* to shoot that pistol. I really do.

But.... I'm skeered....
