50 beowulf

The 50 Beo brass splits too after several reloads.

TRUE ! but at least i'll get maybe as many as 30 reloads from one case ;)

In the end It would not do anything that a 12 ga slug would not do.

NOT TRUE !! a friend of mine had an old combine on his property that we used for a target for our cannons my 1" bore cannon hit the engine block and punched a large hole, my reloaded 12 Ga. just splattered on the block, my .499LWR with a solid copper bullet went thru the block and cracked the crank shaft. the copper frangibles are exactly THAT, i hit a hardened area of the block and there was a splattering of copper covering a 10" circumference with only a slight dent.
 
There's quite a bit more energy behind the .50 Beowulf than a 12g slug.

Also, you definitely draw a crowd with it at the range, just glad everyone was more curious than angry that I was firing a shoulder cannon. :D
